Laina as a nn for Angelina?

I've been trying desperately to find a name I could use Laina with. I'm not sure whether to use it alone or as a nn for a name that is a bit more substantial. Is Angelina too much of a stretch? Any other suggestions besides Alaina/Elaina?

Thanks, Alessia

I think it'd be fine. Nicknames can come from anywhere, so to me taking the ending -lina and adding the A to get the nn Laina is really not a stretch at all. If it bothers you, you could incorporate the entire nn into the name - Angelaina. It really doesn't sound that far off from Angelina, and I actually think it's quite pretty. Another plus in my mind is that it kind of avoids the whole Angelina Jolie association (not that that's terrible, I just mean people won't be as prone to say "oh, you mean like the actress!" LOL). HTH! :)

I don't think Laina goes well as Angelina's nn. Lena - yes but Laina - no.
