Cutter....I haven't heard it before. Not sure if I like it or not. Sorry but after saying it a few times what came to mind was Tutter off of Bear in the Big Blue House, lol.

Cutter? As in a person who mutilates themself due to a psychological problem that causes them to relieve psychological pain by focusing on the more controlable physical pain? Definitely not a good idea. This mental disorder is becoming increasingly well-known

I understand if you've decided against Quinten and need to start looking again, but Cutter isn't the answer, I'm afraid. :( Luckily, I've already read the other replies and Annie saved me a lot of typing. ;) The term cutter refers to someone who purposefully and repeatedly cuts themselves in order to deal with psychological pain they cannot control through physical pain they inflict themselves (and, therefore, CAN control). So a familiar term for a person who engages in self-mutilation, but not an attractive naming option for a child.

I really, really dislike Cutter. Strongly. I have to agree with Annie as I immediately thought of cutting one's self. Please don't use it. Quinten is SO much nicer. And you don't really have to type all in CAPS.

Hi there, Kendra. Lets all take a deep breath, LOL. It'll be okay!

April 21st is still about two months away, so there's no need to worry. I'm personally not a huge fan of Quinten, but I do like it better than Cutter. I just don't see 'cut' as being a very nice verb, & therefore wouldn't want to name my child after it.

I'm sorry to be so negative. Would you mind if I suggested a few names that are simalar to Cutter & Kaden that you might like? Here we go...

Beckett

Brecken/Breckin

Bracken

Baxter

Catcher

Carter

Carson

Crispin

Dexter

Greyson

Jett

Jasper

Kieran

Keenan

Keegan

Ryder

Saywer

Tucker

Tanner

Tyler

Thatcher

Thane

Weston

Xavier

Xander

Zane

Hope this helps!

The mental disorder was the first thing I thought of when I saw Cutter, too.

Do you like Cullen? It's similar but doesn't have any negative associations.

Other similar names:

Keanan
Collier
Conall
Quinn
Kent
Keaton

I'm not a huge fan of Cutter. I did like the previous poster's suggestion of Cullen a lot though. I know a man named Cutler, which is also a nice alternative imo.

Are you definitely going with a "K" sound? I like Quinten, but here are a few other suggestions:

Calder
Calhoun
Culver
Cuyler
Reed
Devlin
Bowen

Good Luck!

Hello, Cutter sounds good, But advice from a mom with two sons named Zacary and Zander. It gets a little confusing sometimes when I'm talking to them or calling for one of them. so be prepared for calling one the other. It does get funny after the first few times. But, yes I really do like Cutter, simply because its very unique.

It's okay. I like Quinten better though.
