Any comments or preferences on the name Lily-Ann(e) or Lila-Anne Patricia? Our last name starts with a V (so LPV would be the mono) - any bad middle school jokes anyone can think of that might suggest another choice? :) I'm delivering by C in the morning & still haven't decided! Both Ann & Patricia are family names - but the first one Lily or Lila - I can't decide. Any other ideas? Is the classic "Lauren" a better choice? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

I prefer Lily-Ann, however I think people would constantly be confusing that for Lillian as she got older. I don't like Lila at all, sorry.

Lauren Patricia is really cute too.

Be sure to tell us what you decide.

I really like both Lauren and Lily. I'm not a huge fan of Lila, but I don't dislike it either. I think that Both Lily and Lauren sound slightly awkward with Ann(e), Lauren because of the repeating end sound and Lily because it sounds like Lillian. But neither is BAD and if Ann is a family name I certainly don't think it's problematic enough that you need to choose a different first name to avoid the problem.

Is there a particular reason you intend to hyphenate the first name rather than just giving her two middle names? I think that unless you actually intend to call her "Lily-Anne" or "Lila-Anne" you might want to consider leaving out the hyphen. There's nothing wrong with two middle names, especially when they have family significance. And unless you plan on using the hyphenated version, it could get confusing (in school, etc - I had a friend who was Paul-Gabriel, but no one EVER called him that, just Paul. And he was constantly explaining to teachers etc that he only used Paul. Not a tragedy - any kid with a nickname has to explain to teachers - but something to consider) Even if you do intend to use both names, you don't really NEED a hyphen. I know tons of people who go by a combination of their first and middle names without the aid of a hyphen. And I think it just looks prettier without one.

Whatever you go with, they are all great choices, so I'm sure you'll be happy. Good luck!

I'd go with Lila-Anne (not hyphenated though). If she goes by Lily-Anne when ever she says her name people will think she's saying Lillian. Actually, have you thought of Lillian Patricia? That sounds pretty.

To be honest, I don't really like hyphenated names at all. I think Lila Patricia would be beautiful, or Lily Patricia (maybe Lilian Patricia or Lilianna Patricia?). Lauren is also gorgeous.

Oh- I hope you're asleep now for the big day, but I'll add my thoughts (and best wishes for a safe, uncomplicated delivery) anyways :)

Anne with an e is the way to go (:P), but I agree with some of the other posters that I might drop the hyphen. You could still call her Lily Anne, but she could drop the Anne if it seemed too much or too confusing, LAPV isn't bad- Lily Patricia Anne might work, LPAV, or maybe Lily Patricia-Ann(e), LPV? Lilian Patricia is an excellent alternate, too.

Lily-Anne Patricia, Lily Anne Patricia, Lily Patricia-Anne, Lilian Patricia...be good for your mummy!!
