little baby girl name...?

I am having my first baby, and am having trouble with finding a girls name. The name that I love the most, is 'Mielee'. It may sound a bit hokey, but I first heard the name on Hannah Montana, although she spells her name, 'Miley'. I did not like the spelling, but loved the name, so I worked on it for a bit and came up with Mielee, and I think it looks and sounds so great! When I write it down, it looks gorgeous to me, and it feels like it would set her apart from the rest of the trendy names out there. But some of my family members have rolled their eyes at it, so I was hoping that some of you might share your thoughts on the name Mielee!

***Mielee***

Thank you for your thoughts!

I have to agree with Donna on the pronunciation of Mielee.

I think Miley is okay - but a little trendy for my taste. Mielee seems hard to pronounce. I would not automatically say Miley if I saw that spelling. It

Hmmm...I hate to be negative about a name that you like so much, but if you want my honest opinion I had no idea how to pronounce it until you wrote Miley. Lots of times "ie" is pronounced with a long ee sound, so I thought it was "Mee-lee" when I first read it. The Mielee spelling looks uber trendy and made up to me and I think it lacks the sparkle and originality you're

We're big Hannah Montana fans in this house (I have a 9-year old DD!)

When I found out that Miley was a nn for Smiley, I thought it was cute. Better than Destiny, actually.

But your spelling looks....very made up.... Too many vowels for my taste. Half the letters in the name are E! If you need to do it, I'd try Mylee. Or Myleigh.

Thank you for your opinion - my mom has said the same thing to me a number of times, I suppose I am being stubborn on the spelling. There's just something about the 'y' in the name that bugs me for some reason. The first name that I wanted was 'Jaqueline' until I heard the name Miley and thought it sounded so cute somehow. But I will definately give a lot of thought to what you and the others have said - my mom will be pleased, haha!

Thanks again!

Hi and thanks for letting me know what you think! To me 'Mielee' looks so cute, but I think I'll have to concede and agree with you guys that there are too many vowels, and that it'll probably be hard to pronounce! I will definately consider the other spellings... My husband and I don't watch Hannah Montana, but I happened to hear them say Miley one day and it truly got me in the heart, and I fell in love with it!

Thanks so much, I'm glad I posted the query - it's good to know what people think!

take care

There's a Hawaiian name that's spelled Maile and is pr. mie-lei. I think that's a lot more apt to age well...admittedly, when someone asked about Miley on the other board, my response was "it'll age as well as a pink faux-fur coat." It's cute now, but in 32 years...I don't think so.

(BTW, I like Jacqueline!)

Hi! Thank you so much for letting me know about 'Maile' - I really like it! And I have thought about what it might be like years from now, and somehow I felt it would be ok - everybody's name sort of, suits them, know what I mean? But it is a good point, and i will think about it. I LOVE your analogy re the pink faux fur coat though, that's fantastic, haha!!

Thanks again!

Well, if you really want honesty...

Mielee is pretty awful.
