I'm not crazy about it. I know a woman named Britain & I just can't get used to it! Some place names work as people names & some don't. London is one that doesn't work for me.

London is the city where I go shopping, lol. I do see it as a girl's name and not a boy's name. I don't mind it but I'd never use it.

Sorry, I'm not a fan of this name. I honestly don't get the appeal of place names at all, unless they have some sort of emotional significance. And for some reason Paris and London both seem like really pretentious names to me, like the type of names that would be chosen by parents who want to sound more worldly than they really are.

I think it's a neat name, if that's your style. I wouldn't use say, Paris as a name bc of the whole Paris Hilton thing, and Brityn is out because I know one of those, but London might be one I could use. I like it!!

Not my favorite place name but I do like it. :) What middle names are you considering with it? <-- Assuming you are considering a middle name at all...;)

Did you grow up there? Were you married there? Honeymoon there? If the answer is yes and the "name" has personal meaning, it could be ok. If you've never been out of the country (or state, whatever the case may be), I'd definitely say no. Unless you have a personal connection to a place, I wouldn't use it as a name. Especially somewhere as familiar as London (not akin to, say, using the name Camden if you live in Canada and aren't familiar with NJ, KWIM?). To me, naming your children after places like London or Paris, for another example, just seems pretty pretentious if you have no connection to those particular place. Make sense?

I totally agree with Hanna, London is not a name for a boy or girl it is a place name. I agree that some place names can sound good as a name (in fact I love the name India) but London just isn't one of those - it doesn't sound very pretty for a little girl and I don't think a boy would thank you for the name.
