We're still at the beginning stages of girls names, but I thought I'd try some out and get some feedback. DD is Kaya Elizabeth (6) and last name is Spanish, beginning Ch. I have a thing for girls names ending in "a" - they just sound lyrical to me. Prefer not to have any unisex names or really common names (I was one of a hundred Katies growing up and that did it for me!). :) And middle name has to be a family name. Our favorite name is Amaya, but as it rhymes with Kaya, we've had to let it go. So, here are some other ones we're considering - whatcha think?
• Amara Catharine – (Catharine is a combination of MIL and me – she spells Catherine and I’m spelled Katharine)
• Lucia Carmen – (Carmen is DH’s grandmother and I love it. Would consider it for first name but doesn’t end it “a”)
• Sayra - this is front runner so far for DH and I do really like it (haven’t determined mn for this one yet, possibly Catharine)
• Kegley – this is DH family name and I love it. Don’t know about it as a fn though?
• Zara – love this name, though in Spain (where hubby is from and family still is) it is a hugley popular retail store
• Esma – diminutive of the Spanish Esmerelda, meaning emerald. Baby will be born in May, birthstone emerald. Kinda cute.
• Nola – we’re from New Orleans (though no longer living there), so this has made the list. DH can’t decide if he likes it enough for a child or maybe just for a future pet. :)

I love Lucia Carmen, pronounced Loo-chee-a, not Loosha.
Amara is my second favorite.

Kegley reminds me of kegel exercises, so I wouldn't use that one.
Amara, Lucia, Esma and Nola are all nice. Nola has a nice meaning, if I remember right.
AJ, enjoying life with C.
• Amara Catharine – I like everything about this name - family connection, very pretty, not trendy or overused
• Lucia Carmen – ditto; this one would be my pick because it doesn't sound very similar to Kaya even though they go together very well
• Sayra Carmen or Sayra Catharine - ditto my previous comments, except it's awfully similar to Kaya
• Kegley – kegger or kegel exercises; maybe as a mn but the other names you're considering are so pretty - this sticks out like a sore thumb; maybe save it as a mn for a future son?
• Zara – is there a chance you'll ever live in Spain?
• Amara Catharine – This is okay... I prefer just Mara though. I think I would pick either one Catharine spelling or the other
• Lucia Carmen – LOVE both names. Why does it *have* to end in an "a"? Carmen would make a great fn AND it would have a family connection. I do love Lucia Carmen though, it is beautiful
• Sayra - too out there for me... just doesn't really sound pretty
• Kegley – very masculine, don't like it at all
• Zara – okay, definately not my favourite of the list
• Esma – Beautiful, I like this a lot, although I rpefer Esme
• Nola – I think this is beautiful, I like it

I think that it is important to choose a name that goes well with the last name in addition to being easily pronounced in both English in Spanish. Amaya is my favorite pick for you; it´s not too common in Spain nor in the states.
By the way, nothing against the name Catherine-but mispelling names appears ignorant to me, sorry!
I love a lot of your choices. We had both Amara and Lucia on our dds name list. Those would be my favorites. I also really like Zara and Nola. My girls ended up Mattea and Eliya.
Hope that helps.
Wow, I really don't think you could go wrong with any of these names - they are all very pretty!
My top 2 favorites from your list are:
Sayra Kegley or Sayra Catharine
Esma Carmen, Esma Catharine or Esma Kegley
A couple other names that end in "a" that I like are:
Cara Kegley (means beloved, darling / friend)
Carina or Carena Kegley (means little darling)
Elaina or Elena Catharine or Elaina Carmen
Good luck!
