Lorelei Mae or Lorelei Michelle?

Both middle names, Mae and Michelle, are family names. Mae was my grandmother's mn and Michelle is my mn. I'm having a hard time deciding which to use with Lorelei.

On the one hand, I would love to honor my grandmother by using Mae, and I do think it goes a little better with Lorelei.

On the other hand, I think it would be neat to pass along part of myself to my child, and therefore I like the idea of using Michelle. I know Michelle doesn't sound horrible with Lorelei, but it doesn't seem to really "go", do you know what I mean?

I would appreciate your opinions. I'm not sure which one I would regret not using - my own or my grandmother's. FYI, our last name is two syllables.

If I was in your position I would use Lorelei Michelle because it's your mn. I think it sounds fine.

I like Michelle best. BTW...I'm passing my middle name (marie) to my daughter as well!

On terms of which one sounds better, as of course I can't tell you which name will have more significance to you, I think Loralei Michelle flows better. Both are nice.

This will be of no help at all, but I think they both sound nice, esp w/ a 2 syll ln.
(btw, our girl name pick is Lorelei, too)

Sorry I couldn't give more direction, but at least you've got a couple of winners to choose from :)

In terms of style and flow with the fn and ln, I'd have to say Lorelei Mae. I think a one-syllable would flow best, since the fn is longer and the ln has two syllables, so I don't like Michelle as much in that regard. Also, although Mae isn't my own personal style, it does seem to have a sort of resurrected classic feel much like Lorelei, while Michelle is incredibly 70s/80s to me (not knocking the name, just saying the only people I've ever known with this name were born in that time period, so it seems very dated to me).
