DF and I really like the name Avery for a little girl. He wants to NN her Avie(abbie w/ a V). I was just wondering what everyone here thought. The middle name would be Cheyenne. Sibs would be Bryson and Shelby.
P.S. I use to post as blue_eyedgoddess :)

I've always liked Avery, and I think it's a great sib match with Bryson and Shelby. I would seriously not change the spelling, though.
Avie is a natural choice for a nn, but I'm not sure about pronouncing it like Abbie. It looks like it should be pronounced like ay-vee, especially since Avery starts with a long a sound as well.
Of course I love it. My daughters name is Avery. As soon as I heard the name on Jerry MacGuire I knew that was going to be my daughters name. I was 5 months pregnant with her when I saw the movie in the theatre. It is getting fairly popular now, although I haven't ran into any my Avery's age. But in my son's preschool class 2 other kids older sisters are named Avery.
Avery Cheyenne sounds fine to me. My dd is Avery Diane - also my mn.

I love Avery for a boy, and don't mind it for a girl (especially since you've chosen not to misspell it!). ;)
The similar ending sounds of Shelby and Avery would slightly bother me, but that's personal preference.

Well, my daughter's name is Avery, so I love it. Avery Cheyenne sounds quite nice.
Regarding the previous post about Murphy Brown naming her son Avery... that is true, but he was actually named after Murphy's mother, Avery Brown!
Good luck!
I like Avery. I used to dislike it because I had only heard it on boys, but its come to the point that it is more popular for girls and so I'm used to it. Another name you might like if you like Avery is Adeline/Adelaide/Adelaine/Adele nn Addie.

ETA Definately don't change the spelling... some posters like "kre8tif" names but the majority of people find changed spellings to be annoying. Stick with Avery.
