Love the Name, but Hate the Meaning?

Hey Folks,
More and more I am running across names that I love, but then when I look up the meaning, I'm flabbergasted. Who on earth would want to name their child that considering what it means? But I guess some people just don't pay attention to meaning. Here are some beautiful names with rather odd or not-so-wonderful meanings:
Cory/Corey=Hollow
Malory=Bad luck
Braeden=From the Dark Valley
Cecilia, Sheila=Blind
Alden=Of Old Age
Mary=Bitter
Anyone else out there surprised by great names with not-so-great meanings?
smaudking :o)

According to this site, Mary not only means "sea of bitterness", but it also means "Rebelious" and "Wished for child". I decided to pick the 3rd option for our DD's name meaning...lol!
Meanings are interesting, but I've discovered that meanings don't matter if you create a meaningful process to pick your final name choice for your baby.
Sorry if this sounds jumbled and incoherent. Mo has finally started to find her sleeping groove, so of course now that I can sleep, I get insomnia.
disappointing that Mallory could mean "bad luck" - I love that name.
