I dont know if you will laugh or not but my brothers girlfriend wants to name their daughter Ava, which is okay if you dont mind how popular it is, but my maiden name and my brothers last name is Ivy. So what would you think of a girl/woman named Ava Ivy? Ava Lynn Ivy to be exact.

Ava is a lovely name, even if it is popular. Heck, I even love Ivy as a given name (more than Ava, to be honest LOL). But Ava Ivy is pretty comical. Almost like she went out and looked for the ONE name they should definitely avoid with that ln -- well, besides Ivy, of course. ;)
My family's like that too. I grew up Kelli K____y (rhymey, two-syllable fn and ln both starting with K and ending in the "ee" sound ... thanks, Mom). Despite that, my brother's wife thinks Kamryn (various misspellings, though she doesn't like Cameron, apparently LOL) sounds GREAT with that ln. My sister, as well, only seems to like names beginning or ending in R or ending with the same L sound as their short R____L sounding ln (some combos sound rather funny, but I've never once heard her say any of them with their ln ... guess she's oblivious LOL).
Funny how those things jump out at everyone else and the parents don't even notice.
