My husband and I have two girls, Juliana Rose and Sophia Grace...we are trying to decide on a name for the third girl due in February 08.

Can I ask the significance for Amy as the middle name, and if that would be the mn for any of these names you listed?

I like Eleanor Amy - especially with the nn options. Nora is great and i love that you are open to if she wants to go by something else later in life.
Juliana, Sophia and Nora sound lovely.

I like both names a lot, but I think with your other daughter's names, I prefer Madeleine. I think it has a certain "frilly" quality (not an insult, I LOVE frilly!!) that both Juliana and Sophia have. Sometimes when I hear the name Eleanor, while I do find it to be lovely, my first thought is of a more staunch person- while the meaning is "light", I think the actual sound of the syllables is a little "hard" (the "n" and the "r" together).

My daughter's name is Eleanor Marie which we love, her nn is Ellie and she is named after my DH's favorite Great Aunt Ellie.

I'm so happy to see someone use Amy as a middle name! My name is Amy, and it's a tradition in my family to pass on mom's name as a middle name to a daughter -- it's nice to see how it could work with some names. (I don't have my own kids yet, so haven't worked out which names would flow best with Amy).

Anyway, I second the vote for Nora -- love it. I am also not a huge fan of Eleanor.

Madeleine is beautiful but way too popular right now.

Another vote for Eleanor Amy. I think it flows better than Madeleine Amy, and I think it goes better with your daughters' names, especially if you call her Nora most of the time.

I have an Eleanor Katherine, so I'm a bit biased LOL.
