Madeleine- Is this name classic or over?

DH and I both like the name Madeleine (pronunciation: rhymes with pen). We got into a discussion last night about wanting to name our daughter either a less common name or a classic name. (I'm aware Madeleine is not less common, especially with all the Maddie's out there. We don't plan to call her Maddie.) Is Madeleine a classic name (like Elizabeth)? I know the names been around for a bit, but do you think it's on it's way out? Or, will it always sorta hang around?
We want to avoid naming her a name that can pinpoint her generation. For example, most people think Jennifer's are about 30, Brittany's are about 21, and Olivia's are about 5.
Thoughts? Ideas?

It's a classic. It's got a long, loooooong history of usage. Is it heavily used, making people mistake it for trendy? Sure. But it's got chops that all the current concoctions and altered spellings don't. Let's put it this way. In fifty years, I think people will still be naming their daughters Madeleine. In fifty years, I kinda doubt we're going to see many Kaylees. (To borrow my BIL's dog's name.)

Hmmm ... I personally think it's both classic & trendy for the moment.

I see it as super-trendy right now, but at least you are a fan of the more traditional spelling. I think I've seen Madeline, Madalyn, Madaline, Madelynn, etc.
