We are having a little girl in a few months and are considering the name Maeve.
I love Maeve, too.
I think Maeve is just lovely. Please use it if it draws you; put family opinions aside. They'll get used to it. If the baby I'm pregnant with now is a girl, we are going to name it something that will seem ... odd ... to family and I'm sure they'll make comments behind my back (the name is Dagny); this is why we don't tell our names ahead of time. But it's a name that we've liked for quite some time now; it just doesn't go away. We find it funky and fun. SO! Please use Maeve -- it's very beautiful.

I agree with PP - using Irish names is a trend right now but I don't think of Maeve as trendy in the least.
