My son is named Mason and I call him Macey alot. Is that how you pronounce Maisie? I love calling him that and dread when he will be too old. He is 4 now. I really think it is a cute name. Even if it sounds old lady now it will not seem like it on a little girl. Best wishes! Jules

I prefer Macie/Macey to Maisie. Maisie is not a bad name, I just feel it sounds like a NN, and I have never figured out a formal name for it.

Macynn or Macina NN Macie is soooo sweet!

I think it's a cute name for a girl... But I'd spell it with a little less vowels... Maybe Macy? Macey? Macie?

i should have been more clear. it's not "macy", maisie is pronounced MAY-zee. it's an old scottish name, apparently.

I'm biased, Maizie is my great-grandmother's name....I think it's great and would grow with the person rather than against.

I think Maisie's a completely lovely and underused nickname for Margaret! (there's also Meg/Maggie, Peg/Peggy, Daisy, Maisy/Maisie, and Pearl that she could choose from as she ages! A very versatile name, Margaret!

LOL It never occured to me that Maizie could be a nn for Margaret. My great-grandmother's name was Maizie Margaret! But of couse in 1908 the trends were different.

I think it is adorable! Although it does remind me an awful lot of Maisy the mouse

I don't see it as old-ladyish so much as too cutesy and possibly now growing well into adulthood.
