thanks again for all the feedback on naming our third girl.
There's a difference, though, between nicknames and given names. A nickname is something you choose for yourself. A given name is something done to you by your parents...the nickname comes from a meaningful history, the name comes with its own meaning and history. For instance, would you consider Hans for a girl if your surname had been further shortened to Lars?
However, I think Larkin would be awesome for you...close to your maiden name/nickname but separate enough to give the child her own identity. (And I love the nn Lark.)
That is a beautiful name....and what a cute name Lark is!

I have a relative named Curtis (girl) and this was a family name that was about to "die out" on that side of the family and she was an only child.
Thanks for opinion, though in this particular post I wasn't really soliciting feedback about names -
