I have a cousin Lorenzo that goes by Loren, so that was my first thought. ;) Also ...

  • Laurence

  • Laurie - traditional nn for Laurence

  • Larkin/Lorcan - technically, Larkin as a masculine name/surname is derived from Laurence, but I've also seen it related to the strictly-masculine Lorcan, which seems a better bet and still a nod to Laura

  • Larus - form of Laurence

  • Laurentius

  • Lawson - son of Laurence

  • Lauro (BTN has it as the literal Italian male form of Laura)

HTH ;)

Possibly Lorne. Wasn't there an old time actor named Lorne? Lorne Green or something like that. Seems like a male kind of version of Laura to me... and masculine :)

Laurance/Laurence comes to mind immediately.

And there is always Laurie (think Little Women), but that seems very effeminate to me.

HTH!

I looked Laura up on a few different baby name sites, and apparently the meaning is "laurel." So I looked up male names meaning "laurel," and the only one I could find is Laurus. I had never heard of it, and I can't say I'm a huge fan, but it's all I could find in terms of names with the same sound + same meaning.
