I'd love some opinions on this name, which I rarely come across. I like this spelling better than with an "o" b/c it seems more feminine. Thoughts?

I love this name! I definitely like the "a" rather than the "o". It's a beautiful name, not overused, and it really flows!

Yes, Marian is very pretty! I definitly like the 'a' at the end too; it's more feminine. I know a wonderful three year old called this. It's refreshing & smart sounding. Great pick.

This is my cousin's name. She spells it exactly with an "a". I think it's pretty. She will be 27 this August.

I have been thinking a lot about this name. I made a sig for someone with a little girl named Marian and it was so adorable on her- absolutely feminine and sweet. I really like it!

Classy and unexpected- - - a name I suggest often as a fresh alternative to Amelia, Charlotte, Meredith, Vivian, or Audrey. It has their glamorous feel without the popularity.

Best wishes.

wow, that's really an outdated name, and I don't think you can consider it a "classic" - just old. it was one of the original unisex names - you can come across men or women named Marian/Marion in their 60s-80s. I could not recommend it. sorry.

I LOVE Marion, but I really can't get into the spelling with the 'a' instead of the 'o.' To me, Marian is the Russian/Polish "mahr-yahn" or a cut-off spelling of Marianne. And look at historical context! Marion was the name both of William Wallace's wife, and of Robin Hood's fair maiden. ;-)
