For some reason I've had the name Mavis on my mind. Old fashioned names seem to becoming more popular. Does Mavis sound too old for a little girl?

If you like Mavis, you may also like Mabel, which I think is really cute, or Hazel, Gwenyth, and Lucy.

Mabel is my grandma's mn. Lulu Mabel. I hadn't really considered that name before, thanks.

My honest knee-jerk response is that Mavis (and also Mabel)is a name of an old lady!! I picture a dumpy, old lady with blue hair sitting on a porch. It's not a name for a little girl.

However, with that said, kids suprisingly, fit into whatever name you choose. Once you see that cute little smile and soft eyes, Mavis probably will fit perfectly, and you soon forget any negative associations tied to the choosen name.

Sorry, I'm no help:( But you did ask for honesty, right?
