Hi,

We are thinking of naming our daughter "May" after her grandmother (short for Mary). The only problem is that her Dad goes by "Jay" (short for James).

Is is awful that they will rhyme?
Thanks in advance for your opinions!

I don't think it's awful, especially if you plan on having more children. I was having the same problem with SO Alex and the name Alice, but we decided it's not a big deal.

May is lovely - - what a great choice!! I wouldn't name siblings May and Jay, but for father and daughter is completely fine, in my book.

I wouldn't do it on siblings, but I wouldn't worry so much between parents and child.
