I just used May as an example, but my question involves babies named Summer, August, May, June, Christmas etc - does the baby have to be born then to have that name? My DH & I are discussing "August" and I secretly like the name Indiana, but do the children have to be born in August or in Indiana to have those names?

Even if you don't HAVE to have been born then, are MOST Junes and Springs born in June & springtime?

THANKS!!!

I know a couple of Junes and an April and none of them were born in the month corresponding to their names.

I think the opposite is true...I think someone names their child August or June, just b/c they like the name...maybe May *Mae* b/c it's a family name or something like that...i actually think of May as a name first, then a month...I think if you want to name your December baby Summer August Long Greek Last name...go ahead!!

Well, we wanted to name our DS August but I am due in August and I will not name an August boy August. So August has been removed form our already bare list.
