Megan, Julianna, and ...?
| Mon, 12-25-2006 - 7:58pm |
Just this past week, I got a BFP -- what a Christmas present! :-) My EDD is August 30, and even though I've been looking at names for a while, it's time to start getting serious. ;-)
I know many of you might remember, but for those who don't, my DDs are Megan Joy (nn Meg) and Julianna May (nn Annie). Both middle names are family names. DH is Scott, and our last name is similar to Halderman.
Just to get us started, what names (boy and girl) would you put with Megan and Annie?
TIA,
Stephanie

Thanks for your suggestions!
The girl names you listed are a bit too popular for me (although we have considered Katherine, nn Kate, and Olivia in the past). I am liking Sarah more lately, so that may still be an option even though it's popular.
Out of the boy list, I like Evan the best, and it's one that I'd seriously consider. My grandpa's name is John, and we might use either John or a form of it in the name. Evan fits the bill! DH used to love Alexander, but close friends of ours had an Alexander last year, so that won't work. Daniel and Gabriel are nms.
Thanks,
Stephanie
Thanks for your suggestions -- all are very good!
I like Claire a lot -- added that to the list. Addy and Andie are nice, but would be too similar to Annie, I think. Camille/Camilla is one that I've been thinking about more lately -- I'll keep that one around. We considered Katherine in the past, but now we know too many Kate/Katies, so we won't use it. I also really like Evelyn, nn Evie, and am keeping that on the list. Virginia is nms, and Sarah is a maybe.
You have a great boys' list, too. Daniel is probably my least favorite, but I really like the rest. We know a couple Benjamins, DH doesn't like Nicholas, and our cat is Oliver. Calvin and Max were already on my list, but I'm adding Simon.
Thanks again!
Stephanie
Wow, more great names!
Of the girls, I really like Caroline, Naomi, and Sabrina. I like Katherine/Kate, but we know too many, and Charlotte is DH's aunt. I also *love* Amelia and pushed really hard for it for DD#2, but DH just couldn't get on board. :-(
Of the boys, my favorites are Owen, Evan, Connor, Garrett, and Patrick. I like several of the others, too, but can't use them for various reasons. And H names just sound weird with our last name. I also prefer Nathan to Nathaniel, but I don't think DH is a fan of Nathan.
Thanks for your help! I added several of those to my list.
Stephanie
Okay, you guys are just good -- these are more great names!
I love Eleanor, nn Nora, too, and it's one of my frontrunners, too. I'm not sure how DH feels about it, though. Plus, one of my high school friends just named his second DD Norah, and even though we rarely see them, I don't want to look like a copycat.
I also love Elizabeth since it's a family name for us, and I prefer the nn Eliza, but I don't think I can get DH on board. If we used it, the full name would be Elizabeth Alice after our grandmothers.
Beatrice is one that has never grown on me, maybe b/c it was my grandmother's name (and she was 67 years older than me), so I have a hard time picturing it on a young child. We already honored her by using her mn for Julianna.
Almost all the other girl names you listed are on my long list of possibilities. I really like Helena and Helen, but I don't think they sound right with our H last name.
My favorites of the boy names are Calvin and John, nn Jack. John is already a frontrunner for us since it was my grandfather's name, but I don't know if I'm sold on it yet. Several of the other names are already taken by friends or family members.
Thanks for your help!
Stephanie
