Men "nesting"?

Ok, so some of you know Jason was on vacation this past week. Well the past two days he suddenly got on a huge cleaning kick. Straightening up like crazy, cleaning out our ENTIRE pantry and rearranging it, cleaning the whole kitchen (including the top of the microwave - our usual "catch-all" for anything from baby Tylenol to old Valentine's candy to random board game pieces LOL), etc. Of course, he doesn't bother with the stuff I actually want tidied up, like the closet in the baby's room (which I did myself today LOL) or pretty much anything in Kaitlyn's room (since she just moved up there recently and it's still pretty transitional, to say the least). ;)
Now I'm guessing this is just so he felt like he accomplished a few things during his time off (he's not one to just sit around LOL), but I couldn't help but notice he seemed to be nesting. ;) Anyone else's husband act like this as the due date drew near? Just thought it was funny. :)

The first thing that struck me was how much the top of your microwave sounds like ours!!! :D
My husband did the same sort of thing. He painted all the trim in our hallway and living room, washed the walls, and things like that. Must be the mens version of nesting!

LOL That microwave is a great home for random household objects, isn't it Theresa?! Glad to hear Jay's not the only one with the nesting instinct. ;)

He promises that we will have everything arranged for the baby by the end of April though, so hopefully I just need to be patient.
I may request that he have "Merry Maids" in while I am at the hospital this time though (they will do a one time cleaning right??,it's not something I actually have personal experience with), because I remember the shock of the dust/ dog hair (we have 2 dogs) after bringing my last baby home from the nice pristine hospital.

Well Jay's kind of a procrastinator/marathon cleaner. LOL I can't get him to do simple daily things like putting his own dishes in the dishwasher (so I can actually run it without standing there an hour PREwashing all his dirty stuff first LOL), emptying his pockets or unrolling his sock balls before throwing them in the hamper (although they DO make it into the hamper most of the time ... now that I put a wicker one in the living room LOL), etc. He'll just let everything pile up and then do it all at once if I let him.
Luckily, sleeping arrangements aren't an issue for us (although they never quite work out how you plan anyway, do they? LOL). With Kaitlyn we had a bassinet in our room that she maybe slept in a handfull of times. The first few weeks she mostly slept in a sleep positioner/nest thing in our bed and then actually slept better in her crib in her own room. Devanie had bad reflux and could only sleep supported upright in a Boppy, car seat, swing, etc. (so usually in her seat or swing next to our bed, then in her car seat actually IN her crib, then finally in her crib alone between 3 and 4 months). We actually got a beautiful wood cradle to keep in our room for this baby, so we shall see if she'll actually sleep in it (but it was a steal at about $20 anyway, so no big loss ... I plan on using it in her room for stuffed animals/dolls etc. once she's outgrown it anyway).
I'm pretty sure you can get a one-time cleaning from places like that ... not a bad idea either! Maybe I should mention that to Jay too! LOL Of course, between my mom and grandmother, I'm sure they'll at least take care of the dishes and little things like that (although my mom's not much for dusting LOL).
It all seems to work out somehow though, doesn't it? ;) Just remind yourself the house can only get so dusty (before you stop noticing hehehe).
