DH and I have picked the name Lillian for a girl (lilly for short) the middle names we have picked out are Grace, (my fav) Ivy (DH's Fav) and we cant seem to agree...so i thought maybe i could get some second oppinions. we both like each others name but not as much as our own...which sounds better to you? Or can you think of some others that go nicely with Lillian.

Personally, I think Lillian Grace has a better flow than Lillian Ivy. However, Grace is becoming the current default middle name. It's like Lynn, Lee, Marie, Ann, Jean, etc. Even if it has meaning to you, it comes across as being the name you put there b/c you couldn't think of something else. (Don't get me wrong, I liked Grace as a mn, too, but when I found out how common it was, it made me not want to use it.)

Ivy is sweet and much less common, but it doesn't have the same flow as Grace, so this is a tough one. Are there any other names you could compromise on? Or a family name that you'd like to use?

My girls' middle names (Joy and May) are both family names -- Joy from DH's side and May from my side.

Other mns that would sound good...
Faith
Joy
Hope
Dawn
Celeste

Good luck making a decision!

I think both sound beautiful, but I would go with Ivy because Lillian is going to get really popular soon and Grace is a really popular mn. Lillian Ivy will make it a bit more unique.

Did you ever think of hyphenating? That's become quite popular. My parent's did that because they couldn't agree on a middle name for my brothers. So, try this...Lillian Grace-Ivy. or Lillian Ivy-Grace. Just a suggestion. LMK what you think. Good Luck and Lilly is a great name!
