middle name idea...

so our girls middle names are: elisabeth, elise and grace.i have found a middle name for girl #4. actually contemplated it with girl #3 but was concerned about medical records showing only the first four letters of a middle name and those letters being 'anal'....so we opted against the name.anyway-recently found a new spelling of the name....

it is annelise.

now i just need to decide which non presidential, not 'er'ending, surname like first name to go with annelise.

current daughters are carter and hunter (close in age)and kennedy and 'noname' (close in age).think it would be fine for 'noname' to have a similar type name to kennedy and to take carter and hunter out of the mix for naming sake.any ideas.....janet

hadley is neat.....also an option since my dad is from south hadley falls,MASS.....BUT not sure if i am liking it.

elliot reminds me of that guy on american idol last year with the bad teeth....lol

i like logan so what do peolethink of naming cousins the same name....is it a big no-no

I would ask your nephew what he thinks of you using Logan. He might thrilled and honored. Or he might be upset to hear it on a girl. I'm guessing the former though. A friend of mine who gave birth recently was teased by her cousin, Randy, who is early 20s that she should name the baby Randy if it was a boy or Randi if it was a girl. (He didn't get his wish, since she named her daughter Elisabeth Catherine!) But I'm guessing your nephew will feel how Randy did -- that it would be an honor regardless of the baby's gender.

If that doesn't work out, I really like the pp suggestions of Hadley and Landry for your. Also maybe: Ansley, Ainsley, Darby, Flannery, Quincy, Ridley, Rory, Shelby, or Whitley.

i love your name brooke-it's a favorite-has been for every birth BUT dh seems to think one sylable names are no good-wierd seeing how he is MATT!

Anyway-one of the names: Teagan is a name i have been tossing around though have just gotten a maybe from him....then i have now seen the name Brinley here three times tonight and i think thats cute and different and i like the way it ends in 'y'like kennedy.

is there a rule as to use of sylables?

thus far we have a 2+4+3.....2+2+3.....and a 3+1+3???

I just saw that your last name was Anderson, yep alas all SON are a no go. I like my name too, thanks :) Teagan is such a pretty and strong name, kind of like Brooke IMO. Brinley is cool too. I only started seeing Brinley a few months ago, but I like it a lot. You might also like the Welsh name Brynn, but since it is a one syllable name your DH might be an issue.

Here are my thoughts on syllables:
It helps to break-up the number of syllables and where a name accents.

For example: Teagan Sarah Anderson v. Teagan Giselle Anderson
Both are 2+2+3, but Sarah doesn't flow as nicely as Giselle. The reason is that Giselle is accented on the 2nd syllable, which makes it break up the 1st syllable stress as well. But in the end what matters most is that you like the name.

Good luck,
Brooke

I like others' suggestions of Quinn/ Quincy, Teagan, Tierney, and Ellery. Great options, along with Logan.

As for your nephew, I would mention it to him and see what he thinks. You may also consider how close you are to him, how often you will see him, etc. when making your decision. If you see him twice a year, it may not be a big deal; but if you see him once a month, you may want to not use Logan if he is opposed to it.

Good luck!
