middle name idea...

so our girls middle names are: elisabeth, elise and grace.i have found a middle name for girl #4. actually contemplated it with girl #3 but was concerned about medical records showing only the first four letters of a middle name and those letters being 'anal'....so we opted against the name.anyway-recently found a new spelling of the name....

it is annelise.

now i just need to decide which non presidential, not 'er'ending, surname like first name to go with annelise.

current daughters are carter and hunter (close in age)and kennedy and 'noname' (close in age).think it would be fine for 'noname' to have a similar type name to kennedy and to take carter and hunter out of the mix for naming sake.any ideas.....janet

Here are some virtue names that might work for your little one:

Amity - friendship
Pax/Paxton - peace
Joy
Felicity - happiness
Liberty - I know that some may see this as cheesy, but I love the nn Libby!
Honor/Honora - I like Honora because of the nn Nora

good luck,
Brooke

I think it is absolutely the wrong thing to pick a middle name first and then force yourself to find a first name to go with that

the first name has to be the bigger priority - if it were because you had a family name you really, really wanted to use in the middle, that'd be different - but to "choose" Anneliese as a middle name, possibly sacrificing first names you do like just because Anneliese doesn't work with it, that's just not right

find your first name first - find a first name you really, really like - that's what you'll call her every day, hardly ever using the middle name

Carter and Hunter are obviously both unisex and last-named-turned-first

Kennedy is definitely a last name, but I don't think boys are using it as a first, it's more all-girl I think.

I think Delaney or Mackenzie would fit here as a match-up to Kennedy, then you have like a pair with each style

other possibly Kennedy fits: Mallory, Hilary, Cassidy

good luck

langley? i have seen it and heard it and even thought about it....sounds better that you say you know someone with it...just gives me visions of a lanky little kid. do you think mackenzie (which i know to be very popular for the 6 yr old crowd now) to be too close in sound to kennedy? janet

Not sure if you wanted a general opinion here, but since Mackenzie can be basically translated to "son of Kenneth," it definitely does seem too similar in my mind. Especially with the identical prominent "ken" in both. JMHO

HTH

ETA: Hit "post" too soon. LOL I meant to follow that up by mentioning that if I knew of sisters named Kennedy and Mackenzie, I'd definitely assume the father (or another close relative) was Ken (any formal version), and that the family was really hoping for a boy to honor him but "settled" for Kennedy and Mackenzie for their girls instead.
