Well, from posting here and on ParentSoup, we've come up with a (tentative) middle name list. So far, we've only worked on a MN to go with Devanie (if we end up using Abigail a few of them would work anyway). I've listed the meanings, other possible spellings and pronunciations, where appropriate. Let us know what you think, what flows best with our last name (McCormick), our daughter's name (Kaitlyn Abrielle), etc. Thanks so much!

- Devanie Abigail (father’s joy)

- Devanie Ashlyn / Ashling / Aislin (pronounced ash-ling or ash-lin; dream, vision)

- Devanie Ariane (from Arianrhod, Welsh goddess; holy; daughter of King Minos)

- Devanie Anwen (pronounced an-win; very fair, beautiful)

- Devanie Aouregwenn (pronounced a-oor-gwen; pure, fair, white, beautiful)

- Devanie Auryn (golden one, one who is longed for)

- Devanie Angel / Aingeal

- Devanie Amelia (flatterer, industrious, hard-working)

- Devanie Cadence

- Devanie Eavan / Aoibhinn (pronounced ayv-in; attractive, beautiful, radiant; the name of many Irish princesses)

- Devanie Morrigan (Irish goddess of war called the Great Queen; queen of the fairies)

- Devanie Rhain (ray-in)

- Devanie Rachel (wife of Jacob, female sheep, ewe)

- Devanie Richael (pronounced reech-hill or like Rachel; princess, saint, royal child)

- Devanie Rose

Ps. I will also start a poll below with our favorites from this list (they wouldn't all fit, of course lol). TIA! :)

They're all beautiful names. But personally, I would go with something shorter and more simple because Devanie is long, has three syllables and is very unusual. I know you mentioned Rose as one, but I don't care for Rose because it sounds too old fashioned. (My middle name is Roisin -- Irish for "little rose," and it's pronounced Ro-sheen. Not short or simple, but you seem to like Irish names, so I was just throwing that in there.) From your list I like Ariane or Rachel the best.

My favorites are Eavan/Aoibhinn and Auryn. I can see you've put a great deal of thought and energy into naming your little girl!

I have one kind of dumb question - how is Devanie pronounced correctly? DEH-vah-nee? deh-VAIN-ee?

All the best of luck to you!

You were right the first time ... DEH-vah-nee is a good way to describe the pronunciation. You could also just kind of say the name "Devan" with an "ee" sound on the end (it actually is a form of Devan). :)

Love Devanie. And since I also love Abigail that would be my first suggestion. But I think you may be right that with all 3 names having 3 syllables it doesn't flow all that well.

Of the names you have listed I like Devanie Rhain and Devanie Rose the best. I also think Devanie Auryn sounds nice but I'm not sure I like Auryn all that well.

Nice list. I like Devanie Morrigan.
