I promise you...if you name him Milo he WILL be picked on in school because of the movie Milo and Otis. Make sure you pick a name you like....but PLEASE think of his future not just as a small child but when he is an adult as well. No offense it is a cute name but my bet is other kids can be cruel and someone will call him something mean.

Well since you mentioned it, it does remind me of the movie "Milo & Otis".

Are you kidding? Milo's a great name! My favorite baby naming book ("The Baby Name Bible") notes it as a hip choice, and it's a cool starbaby name too. My bff's 18 mo is Milo (siblings are Grace, Sophia, Charles and Ava), and he's an awesome little dude.

I say don't worry about things like "Milo and Otis" -- goodness, you can come up with some teasing element to ANY name (or something other than a name for that matter).

If you like it, use it! Dh and I just named our newborn son Axel this week -- believe me, I know some people find it an odd name. But WE love it, and it has meaning for us, so we used it. Now, we didn't tell anyone the name ahead of time -- and I caution you about that in the future -- so all people can SAY is "Oh, lovely" Lol.

Enjoy,

Darla

I really like it, though I prefer it as a nn to Miles. Either way I think it works with your other kiddos...

My only problem is the idea of Milo and Mason...it's a bit too precious. Otherwise, Milo isn't too weird for a boy...too weird for a girl, but fine for a boy. (Though I always tell people I prefer Otis. Sounds like a joke, but I honestly do. Otis just seems more manly and grounded. Though Milo on "24" might have changed my mind a bit on that last season...)

It's not weird at all! It's a great name.
And I wouldn't worry about kids teasing, the movie Milo and Otis isn't popular anymore.

Honestly, I think MeiLei is a whole lot weirder. I LOVE Milo. You could always do Miles and call him Milo, but I think Milo is fabulous. It is spunky and uncommon.

ETA I doubt most kids even know what Milo and Otis is, but even if they do, what kind of teasing can that lend to? Nothing much.

I absolutely love the name Milo! Either pronunciation, (Me Low) or (My Low) sounds beautiful!

Good luck,
Tracy
