Every day I like a new girl's name! This is going to be SUPER tough.

Today's name: Bridget.

What middle names go with it?? Family names: Jo, Mae, Hannah, but those don't sound right with it.

Any help?

i like bridget mae also, and bridget noelle as a PP stated. i prefer other spelling of bridget (brigid, brighde, etc), but it doesn't alter the way it's pronounced, so it's entirely up to you. i'm just not fond of the nn "bridge" that comes so easily from "bridget".

I know what you mean, but we have a one syllable LN, so I kind of like more syllables in both FN and MN. I don't think the full name is said too much IRL anyway, so I don't really see more syllables as a problem in most cases, especially if you find a name that just feels "wow" to you! :o)

Actually, the other spellings DO alter the pronunciation. Bridget is simply the anglicized spelling and pronunciation. Irish Gaelic doesn't use a "J" sound in its phonetics. Brighid is pronounced "breed".

really? didn't know that was the correct pronunciation (altho i did know there is no 'j'/soft 'g' sounds)...i thought the old school pronunciation was more "brih-ghee" or "brih-gheet" (hard 'g'). i was more referring to the fact that most people, these days, see the name in any spelling and say "bridget", even those who use those spellings.
