Hello - I am a mother of 2 kids, Maddie (Madeline Grace) and Bo (Robert Otto). We are 32 weeks along and I am on BEDREST! `this gives me nothing but time to analyze a name for our little baby. We are not finding out the sex, but if it's a boy we are going with Hudson.

My husband likes "cool / masculine" names for girls and his first choice is Quincy.(Quincy Jane)

Quincy- Not a big fan of it.

Lyla- My second choice out of your names. Very cute!

Mia- Absolutely LOVE it!

Whitney- Hate it. Just doesnt sound right with Maddie and Bo.

Another couple names that are cute are:
Jordan
Kardan
Karson
Sarah
Remie
Riley

Loving Mommy to:
Will, Gabi, Emmie, Nellie and Soon to be baby #5

Quincy- Hmm...nms, really, but I do really like Quinn...perhaps as a nn??

Lyla Jane- I think this sounds great with Maddie & Bo!

Mia- Cute, but I don't think I like it together with Maddie.

Whitney- It's okay, but I don't think it fits well with super-cute Maddie & Bo.

Other "cool/masculine" girl name suggestions:
Riley
Sidney
Sadie (not so masculine but has such a hip, flapper feel!)
Delaney
Carly
Parker
Linden
Addison (Addie Jane sounds cute!)

hth!

Love Hudson btw. Adelaide (nn Addie/Adelle) Jane would be sooo adorable yet still a bit masculine. I like Mia but it doesn't go well with your sibset imo.

Nicki...

With Maddie, I'd skip over the oh-so-male Quincy. I'm not usually one for matching initials, but I'd go with Mia--a lot less popular than the Maddie names.

Quincy's not my style but I agree it's cute and if you both love it, maybe that's the name.

Mia is really popular but so is Maddie (as a nn), so I don't think that's all that bad.

I love your older children's names, so I'm sure you'll choose a great name this time around!

I love Quincy. I knew a little girl named Quincy and she was adorable -- super smart, super sweet -- so that's probably why I have such a good association. I love Jane, especially as a mn. Quincy Jane is very cute.

Lyla Jane -- I prefer Lila/Lilah to the trendy looking Lyla. (It reminds me of the difference in Madeline vs Madelyn. Neither is WRONG, but one looks much prettier and classier to my eye. Given that you chose the classy Madeline, I'd suspect you'd like Lila or Lilah better as well.) Lilah Jane is adorable and a wonderful fit with your older children. However, if it was a close friend of yours who recently used it, you probably want to avoid this one.

Mia -- I like this as a nickname, but I don't love it as a full-name. (Even though I know it's VERY popular as a full-name.) I'd rather see you use a more classic name like Amelia with a spunky nn like Mia. I think that fits perfectly with Madeline nn Maddie.

Whitney -- I like this name but I don't love it. It's just okay to me. I don't think of Whitney Houston though. I've known MANY Whitney's in my life, so I don't have a strong association with it.

Some other names you might like. These have a spunky feel to me and some of them have the masculine edge your husband is looking for: Charlotte (Charlie), Georgia (Georgie/GiGi), Norah, Aurora (Rory), Arden, Lucy, Blair, Clara, Lola, Theresa (Reese), Darby, Audrey, Danica, Greer

Well, I'm personally the number one fan of the name Quincy for a girl.

I've never come across a girl named Quincy, that IS just a boys name

Quinn is unisex

Mia and Lyla are not "masculine" or a unisex feel like your husband appears to like

I like your name choices. Out of those names that you have listed I like Mia the best. I tend to like exotic names like Dominica, Talia and Natalia or Natalie. Ella, Sophia, and Ariana were my top choices for a girl. I have a friend who named her daughter Madison, which is different.
Good luck in picking out names.
I am 36 weeks, but can really go at any time now. I can imagine how frusterating it is for u to b basically tied to your bed. My boyfriend made me stay in bed for nearly 4 days because he didn't like me cleaning and cooking while he's at work. He loves me and doesn't want me to injur myself in my clumsey state. Now, I don't have to cook or clean for the moment and I must say this is really nice. I will definately enjoy this treatment while it lasts!

Take care and have a healthy and blessed delivery.

Tania

Thank you for listening to me rant,

I love the name quincy (Kweencie). I think your way of spelling it is the best way, but
