Ja'Marion William & Sha'Marion Joseph (twins) -Yeah, I'm sure people won't get them mixed up!
Katy
Proud mommy of Makayla (4-years-old)
Makynley Kegan (g) - her Ma's name is Kynley? Trendy Y additions aside, I find the Ma- misspellings particularly annoying.
Yessenia Janairis - Yessenia is a nice, real name. I'm not familiar with Janairis, and it does seem made-up, but since they used a valid fn, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. ;)
Ontaria Neveah - ahh ... the required "Heaven MISSPELLED backwards!" Kind of defeats the purpose of using a trendy name specifically created by spelling a common word in reverse, don't you think?
Rihanna La'Shauna - I love Rhian, Rhianna and Rhiannon, but abhore "Rihanna." I'm not that familiar with the celeb ... does she say this Rhianna, or is this like Hanna with a "ree" prefix? Either way, it's a mispronunciation or simply not as attractive. And why did they make her middle name "The female Sean," basically. Shauna itself is one thing, but tacking a random prefix onto it -- especially one that is a separate word in more than one language -- doesn't convey much class or intelligence at all.
Brendalynn Corinne - Brendalynn is gag-me 70s to the max. Ugh.
Mourice - LMAO. All it takes is one second to look up the correct spelling of a name before filling out the birth certificate and forever cementing your -- and, sadly, your child's -- reputation as a poor speller. ;)
Jalaisha Latrell - blech and blech. There are so many great names out there, no matter your style. Why or why do people insist on making up this nonscense?
Jonaisa Christine - oddly enough, I've seen "John+Asia" before, and I'd be willing to bet that's how they're saying this, even if they did spell the end "aisa." So you've got a common Jon- fn and filler 70s mn (Christine) ... yet I'm sure they think this is an incredibly beautiful, unique choice.
Dameyn James - Damian is a wonderful name. Is "Dam eye n James" supposed to be a phonetic version? At best, this says "Dam-een"
Ra'kim Kshon - Ran'dom pu'nctua'tion real'ly isn't nec'essary (though if they're going to follow up a K with an SH blend, they might have though about inserting one into K'shon ROFLMAO). Ra-kim-k-shon ... chucka, chucka, chucka ... sounds like random sounds in a song beat. LOL Also, when did cushion/Kshon become a name?
De'anta Tyrick - "The entity Rick??" What? "The ant untied Rick?" I'll reiterate ... don't make up names with horribly kre8iv spellings, meaningless prefixes and random puntuation. It's really quite horrible.
Nivea La'Joi - apparently, her lotion causes her "the joy." Ooook.
Sha'Maya Aj'Nay - sounds like a drunk Roman talking about his "arse" ... "Sha-my-a ajh, nay?"
Synsere Phakye Marcel - ROFL Does this say "Sincere Fakey Marcel?" The poor kid's an oxymoron (and his parents can simply subtract the oxy- part).
Ta'Kayliah Princess Delores - Tickle ya, Princess Delores? God, I hope she goes by Delores.
Austyn McKoy - at least this will SOUND fine.
Myasia Sah'Maurii -

Oh Kelli, I hate to tell you this but the one time in my life I got a pedicure (for my wedding) the lady who did it had a picture of her twin girls hanging up. I asked what their names were and she said "Devanie and Dallas" to which I thought hmm, but the frame had their names spelled out on the mat, and when I got a closer look, it was spelled Dallis. I commented on the spelling and how pretty I thought Devanie was and she said, "I know Devanie was such a pretty name, I had to pretty Dallas up somehow too." Unfortunately, Dallis is anything but pretty.
Jina
No way! I've only known of maybe three Devanies in the US total ... one is a journalist in CA (we chat LOL), and two others had blogs of some sort online when I was pregnant with her (did some research, of course). ;) I'm not silly enough to think there aren't others, but hearing the name is a rarity. Like when my sister Dara had a Dara cut her hair. She'll never forget that particular trim. LOL

I lived in Lincoln, Nebraska at the time, I was just finishing up my bachelor's degree in 2004. I think I remember her saying her daughter's were 5 at the time (or at least around there) so they would be around 8 now. She pronounced it Dev-an-ee, same as you. As for the Dallis thing, I agree, no matter how you slice it, it is a masculine sounding name.
I guess I never mentioned it because the Dallis thing was so horrible, I hate that its associated with Devanie.
Kind of the way that when I heard that the family that used to live in the house we live in had a son named Hayden and daughter named Meredith, I breathed a sigh of relief, at least they had great taste in names right? But a couple months ago, the lady in line behind me at Target asked my son's name and then she said "my sister just had twins and named them Hayden and Kayden." I could have puked right there in line, and felt embarassed that these people had the same taste in names as me.
ROFL Don't worry ... I don't feel bad in those cases. I just assume even someone with otherwise poor taste might somehow stumble upon a "good" name, right? ;) After all, it doesn't take a genius to slip on an oyster and stumble upon a pearl, right?
Perhaps someone here even helped. Someone, somewhere, DOES take our advice, so I'm sure there are some nicely-named children out there that might thank us if they could. LOL
As to "Hayden and Kayden," I honestly might have lost my lunch. LOL And I think you can rest assured that this choice in no way reflects a taste similar to yours ... it simply shows that they'd heard of both names, and knew they happened to rhyme, so thought them *perfect* choices for twins! What's more creative than THAT? (Note the sarcasm here LMAO).

I swear, all those spellings make me feel as though I'm reading some foreign language.
Used to, an occasional 'different' spelling might have been a bit unique. Seems like nowadays, it's so typical that it's anything but.
I think this demonstrates the President of the United States/Supreme Court Justice/Exotic Dancer rule...
Does the name better complete this sentence: Ladies and Gentlemen, the President of the United States/Supreme Court Justice...
OR! Ladies and Gentlemen, appearing on stage three with their naughty moves, Champayne Slut and .....
Kelli,
I loved reading your post! I was ROFLMAO! Your sense of humor is amazing!
