more name help!

Quick one for you, would it be weird / bad to name our 4th baby an “R” name, considering our kids are Jenna, Rhys and Reuben? With my boys, it was coincidental that they both have “R” names, but would it look like we are trying for a theme if the next one has an R name? would Jenna’s name look left out when I sign cards for all of us etc?

We are having a really hard time with naming our new bub, because all the names I love all begin with R!

We have narrowed down our list a little bit, but also added a couple of new ones in…any feedback would be so appreciated!

Current possible boys names

Angus

Samuel

Leo

Remy

Liam

Maxwell nn Max

Jagger

Reed

Ryder

And girls….

Chloe

Georgia

Rory ( I love this on its own, but DH says it can only be used if her full name is Aurora!)

Violet

Anna

Remy or Remi (not sure how this fits a girl…I just really like the name)

Ella

Audrey (DH favourite)

Any other suggestions? Also our last name is Ryan, that’s why im so worried about the R’s!

Rhys Ryan & Reuben Ryan both sound good to me, would one more R name be awful?

Angus- I wouldn't use this since u have Reuben. Sorry, but it just reminds me of the Angus Burger at Burger King. Not trying to be rude but Angus and Reuben together....probably not.

Samuel-This is nice

Leo-not my style

Remy-too cutesy for me

Liam-strong name

Maxwell nn Max-don't like Maxwell but like Max

Jagger-too rugged sounding for me

Reed-I really like this

Ryder-it's ok

And girls….

Chloe-I love this name.

Georgia-not my style

Rory ( I love this on its own, but DH says it can only be used if her full name is Aurora!)-love Rory.... but Aurora noooooo

Violet-nice

Anna-i prefer Hannah

Remy or Remi (not sure how this fit’s a girl…I just really like the name) i like remy

Ella-my middle name but i prefer Ellie

Audrey (DH favourite)-always beautiful

Any other suggestions? Also our last name is Ryan, that’s why im so worried about the R’s!

Rhys Ryan & Reuben Ryan both sound good to me, would one more R name be awful?

Naming number 4 is a tough one - I had such traumas..

Anyway - I'd probably stay away from the R names too, maybe add them to mn.

Here goes:

Girls:

  • Chloe Ryan - ok - not sure same style as Jenna

I love Leo for you! I would try to avoid another R name. It's certianly not "bad" or "weird", but it's not something I would necesarily want either. But I dislike matchiness, so that's just me. I do think Leo goes perfectly though!

I think if it's another boy, you can get away with another R, Jenna wouldn't seem so left out because she is the only girl

but if you do an R for a girl, it might seem weird

I know two families where the initial sequence is really odd

one has 4 boys - 3 As and 1 C - the C is 2nd in the order - never asked the Mom (I know her and used to run into her at some things)

I don't see anything wrong with having all 3 boys with R names and your daughter not.

I do kinda feel that another R would be a bit much--my take is that two is a coincidence, three is a pattern. But, to be really honest, I'd find most of the R names on your list a mouthful with Rhys and Reuben, anyway...Reed sounds too much like Rhys, Ryder looks too much like Reed, and I could totally see stumbling over Rory with Rhys. I like Remy for a boy (we have a friend named Remington who goes by Remy,) but I don't like it on a girl--and since, as a full name, it's quite French, it feels out of step with the more Gaellic Rhys and Reuben. I think Liam or Angus (or Fergus, if you're taking suggestions) would sound great on a brother and Georgia or Audrey on a sister.

Hmmm...Fergus Andrew, Fergus William, Fergus Calder, Fergus Alistair. I wouldn't choose anything too extreme because Fergus is pretty uncommon, but it's also pretty flexible. Is there anything from your list you would like to use in the mn position?
