My Gran's name isn't so much unusual as it is just uncommon, I guess. Her name is Hilda. :)
Other than her, there's:
- Urbaine (1645-1681) - Hippoiyte (~ 1740). I have no idea how this one is supposed to be pronounced, but no matter how I try, I don't think it's attractive at all. Oh well. - Brownie (from the early 1900s. I hope this one is a nn, but I don't really know. LOL.)
The most unusual name in our family is QUETT! pronounced like qwet. My husband actually wanted to use this for a baby name. However when I pointed out the similar sound to a foul name for a female body part and the fact that our last name is slang for a male body part he quickly conceded.
This one isn't really unusual its my paternal Grandpa's older brother who died when my Grandpa was a child. His name was Redvis George Owen. My paternal Nana's name is Violet Merle and we have always been threatened with being disowned if any of us name our daughters after her. My paternal G-Grandpa was Ambrose George Thomas. My maternal Nana had an uncle Campion Ionadad who was known as John and his older brother was William (nothing unusual about that one) Caddy (his mothers maiden name).
On my maternal side I have a great uncle Selwyn (when we were kids we all called him Uncle Seaweed), he loved it, he is my grandpa's younger brother. My Great Grandma who was their Mum her name was Winifred Euphemia she also had a younger sister who's middle name was Earmina.
In this generation my Caroline's mn is Amethyst. I have a niece who is Maegan (yes Maegan not Megan) Adele and my nephews mn is Ellis (BIL Dad's mn). One of my cousins named his daughter Marley
I know the names aren't really that unusual I just love their combinations of names.

My cousin has 3 boys named River, Rocket and Racie (yep, Racie!?!) I don't mind the name River, but the others are absolutely ridiculous to me and as a sibset even more so!
My dad's grandmother's name was Bevela. My sister's name is Audra and everyone mixes it up with Audrey. Everyone else's names are pretty common. When and if Michael and I get married and have 2 kids, the names would look something like this
I had an aunt who passed away six years ago named Edilen. My dad used to tell me that she was named after two uncles: Ed and Leonard. Of course this was his sister so you think he would know. Turns out there were no such uncles. She was named after her maternal grandmother of the same name. I don't know where the name came from. When I was little I used to call her Aunt Evelyn cause I really didn't get her name. When I was pregnant with my DD I was going to make it her MN and my aunt begged me not to. Now that she has passed I am considering using it if I ever had another DD.

We all have very boring names actually I can only think of two that are weird.
I have a younger cousin name Fallon not that weird but her last name is Stump. So her name is Fallon Stump(Fall on stump!)
Then my grandmother name is Dora-Ella. Said as one name.
