We are expecting again... My "baby" just turned 8 months old and now I found out that I am 10 weeks pregnant! I am super excited, a little overwhelmed & wiped out all at once. With our first we tried for four years and then did 6 unsuccessful artificial rounds and then invitro to get our first, so it came as a shock that we are expecting again without any help. Along with the invitro - I ended up having placenta previa and a scare of placenta acreta. What are your thoughts on having children so close in age? Is it okay to feel overwhelmed with such a huge blessing & thirdly a fun question what names sound good with baby sister Ava Grace?

I would hope you would be a little overwhelmed; to me that means that you are taking motherhood very seriously and you are concerned that you can give both children all the attention, necessities, and your best. Not to mention, you practically just met Ella, you should be informed about something (in this case, the birth of a new sibling / child) that will undoubtedly change your relationship with her in one way or another.

You'll handle it just fine. You seem to be looking at this from all angles, and that is a sign of good parenting...I think.

As for names, Ella Grace is pretty classic and very feminine. How about Ruby? Diana?

Our second daughter was eight months old when we found out we were expecting our third, so I've been there. ;) It was a bit overwhelming at first -- and kind of odd feeling like I'd just gone through all the pregnancy/labor/newborn stuff, and here it was again -- but now I'm glad they're so close in age. It's actually kind of nice ... like having twins with a bit of a break in between. LOL The hardest part was the first week or two after the youngest was born, because my then-16-month-old seemed to feel a bit displaced. She got over it really quickly, though, and now has to be near the "baby" at all times. ;)

As far as names are concerned, I'd look for something equally classic and familiar. With Ava, which is lovely btw, I'd go with something like ...

Charlotte
Claire/Clara
Laura/Lauren
Ruby
Elise
Eloise
Georgia
Rose
Scarlett
Imogen/Imogene

Oliver
Charles/Charlie
George
William/Will/Liam
Nolan
Henry
Sebastian
Elliott
Finnian/Findlay/Finley
Rhys
Edwin

HTH

Good luck!
