I voted Natalia Pearl (love both names) but would have voted for Cora Louise if that had been an option. Great choices. :)

AJ, enjoying life with C.

Wow- that was a really tough poll! You have amazing choices. Are any of the names family names? That would help me narrow it down (I think use names with significance is so important).

Thanks for responding, guys. I like the way Cora Louise sounds too, but I just don't like that it would be "Cora L.", like "Coral". Haha, maybe I am too picky.

I like Natalia as well but I dislike "Nat" or "Nattie" as nicknames. In fact I dislike nicknames in general, so I suppose that is why most of the names on my list are on the shorter side.

Congratulations on expecting your first daughter!

The use of family middle names is an excellent way to give roots to the whole combo and give your daughter a story behind her name. If any of these includes family names, that would influence my choice greatly.

As it is:

Cora Charlotte- Two beautiful names. Together just a wee-bit sing-songy

Cora Denise- Cora is great. It flows nicely into Denise.

Charlotte Louise- The -lotte ending on Charlotte doesn't flow well into Louise. What about Cora Louise or Charlotte Denise?

Charlotte Rita- This isn't great flow either, imo, but both names are catchy.

Audra Pearl- Audra, though in and of itself not overused, will get lost in the sea of Ava, Emma, Eva, Ella, and Audrey. Sorry. Rita Pearl?

Anna Pearl- Anna lacks the zest of your Cora and Charlotte combos.

Anna Louise- Ditto. What about Louisa Pearl?

Mary Arminta- Mary is sweet but not very interesting after dangling Cora, Charlotte and Audra! Arminta is fun and unforgettable! Arminta Pearl?

Marie Audra- Doesn't flow together as well. Marie has a nice simplicity like Mary that is almost fresh, at the moment, but it would go with something else more elegantly. Or rather, some of your other combos are more elegant.

Natalia Pearl- Natalia is a gorgeous name. Pearl fits nicely with it.

You have a wonderful list. Enjoy deciding!

You guys are right - a lot of these names are family names.

Audra/Anna - My grandmother's first and middle names. I was actually named after her...my parents combined her names into mine (Andrea). I thought it would be nice to use at least one of these names.

Arminta - My great-grandmother's name. She was burned at age 30 getting her kids out of a burning house, and she never fully recovered and then died at age 33 of an illness. Also, I have a picture of her and she was gorgeous. Even though we never met, I really like her and even though Arminta is such a strange name, I would love to include it as a middle name somewhere.

Cora - This is not exactly a family name - I do have family members named Cora, but Cora is more of a name that I just think is cute...it doesn't have a huge personal significance to me.

Charlotte - I love this name, and I have an aunt Charlotte.

Denise - This is my mother's name. I am not a big fan, but I would like to use it as a middle name somewhere.

Louise/Louisa - This is a family name...It is my mother's middle name, and I have an aunt Louise, and also it is my great-great grandmother's name.

Mary/Marie – Well, I have a million family members named Mary, of course. I actually prefer Marie, but I think that “Mary Arminta” flows better than “Marie Arminta”. I think Mary is cute also, but maybe “too religious”.

Natalia – This isn’t a family name. I really like the boy’s name Nathan, but I don’t like Nate, and I love the way “Natalia Pearl” sounds, so I decided to use this. However I think I will end up taking Natalia off my list.

Pearl – This is sort of a special name for me....it is the name of a family friend. That is where I first got the idea to use this name. I am fairly close to her and she is a very cute old lady. I also just like Pearl for a middle name – it seems like a good transition name.

Rita - This is a family name also – I have an aunt Rita on each side of my family. I am quite close to both and one recently died after a long illness. The other is around ninety and she is the sweetest old lady that I know. I don’t particularly like this name, but I would like to try using it somewhere as a middle name. It doesn’t seem to have a very good “flow” as a middle name though.

"Cora Charlotte- Two beautiful names. Together just a wee-bit sing-songy"

Right, I agree. It's just that I love both of these names, but I want a large family and I want all the kids names to begin with a different letter. (So far I like Cora, Marie, Anna, Peter, Nolan, and Lyle.) Also, it seems like it will make things easier to organize if all the kids had a different first initial. Maybe this is unnecessary...I still have to decide.

“Cora Denise- Cora is great. It flows nicely into Denise."

Thanks. I liked Denise best with Cora also.

“Charlotte Louise- The -lotte ending on Charlotte doesn't flow well into Louise. What about Cora Louise or Charlotte Denise?”

Yeah, I never thought about that before. I will have to reconsider that.

“Charlotte Rita- This isn't great flow either, imo, but both names are catchy.”

Yeah, I agree. It’s hard to find a first name that Rita matches with. I am not a big fan of the whole “two-middle” name thing, but maybe I will try to find a name where Rita would fit as a second middle name.

“Audra Pearl- Audra, though in and of itself not overused, will get lost in the sea of Ava, Emma, Eva, Ella, and Audrey. Sorry. Rita Pearl?”

Yeah, true. It’s kind of strange that I love Audra but hate Audrey. Also, my grandmother personally hated her name (Audra). She always went by her middle name, Anna. I don’t really like Rita for a first name and I don’t think my daughter would either….certain old fashioned names sound cute again today but I don’t think Rita is one of them.

“Anna Pearl- Anna lacks the zest of your Cora and Charlotte combos.”

Yeah, Anna is pretty common now, but I still think it is cute.

“Anna Louise- Ditto. What about Louisa Pearl?”

Hmm, I don’t know if I like Louise/Louisa for a first name. I think it is cute enough, but I just have a “Wheezy” association with it.

“Mary Arminta- Mary is sweet but not very interesting after dangling Cora, Charlotte and Audra! Arminta is fun and unforgettable! Arminta Pearl?”

Oh, Arminta….I think this is just too weird for a first name. I think that people would dislike it.

“Marie Audra- Doesn't flow together as well. Marie has a nice simplicity like Mary that is almost fresh, at the moment, but it would go with something else more elegantly. Or rather, some of your other combos are more elegant.”

Thanks, this is true. Marie would probably fit better with something else.

“Natalia Pearl- Natalia is a gorgeous name. Pearl fits nicely with it.”

Thanks, I thought so as well.
