My future list:
No plans for kids anytime soon, but I always have a list running. So, I thought I would share.

MN will be family names:
girls: Rebecca, Elizabeth, or Jane
boys: James or William

Girls:
Iris - my current number one - I would occassionally use the nn Izzy
Lucy
Harper
Adeline, nn Addie
Mercedes, nn Sadie
Calla, nn Cal/Callie
Pheobe
Penelope, nn Poppy - It is a family name, but I am currently not brave enough to use this, maybe someday
Isla - I worry about pronuciation - but it is so pretty.

Boys: A much shorter list :)
Luke - Not that exciting, but I really like it
Weston, nn West - my number one name for years
Griffin, nn Finn
Andrew, nn Andy - a cute, all boy name

Girls:

Iris - This one's nice; I much prefer it over Violet, which may seem a bit similar in style. Also, it falls into the current trend of flower names (Lily, Rose, Violet, etc.) but somehow seems much more fresh and beautiful. I like this one a lot.

Lucy - Love this name, but there are so many of them.

Harper - LOVE! I also like Hadley.

Adeline, nn Addie - LOVE Adeline, like Addie.

Mercedes, nn Sadie - I've never really thought of Mercedes, but I adore Sadie as a nickname. Thank you for not spelling it Mersadies just so the nickname would be in the name. God, how awful that would be.

Calla, nn Cal/Callie - I despise Callie (for personal reasons), but Calla is gorgeous. See comments re: Iris.

Pheobe - PHOEBE! PHOEBE! Spell this one correctly, and it will become my favorite on your list.

Penelope, nn Poppy - If this is a family name, then I love it even more. I'd never be brave enough to use it myself, but if it were a family name, maybe that would give me the courage. I love it; and Poppy is adorable (as is Penny).

Isla - Don't worry about pronunciation. As much as I love Iris, I love Isla even more. I think it's just beautiful.

I think that all the boy names on your list are strong, classic, and masculine. I like them all, with Luke and Griffin leading the pack. Likewise, I love all the middle names you mentioned; any of them are great matches for the names on your list.

Nice lists! Here are my thoughts:

Girls:
Iris - my current number one - I would occassionally use the nn Izzy-This is fun & spunky. I like Izzy a lot too.

Lucy-Adorable. It's apperently popular in some areas, but I've never even met one.

Harper -I can't get into this one. It seems sort of masculine.

Adeline, nn Addie-I love it! I'd be totally wary of using Addie though, due to the massive explosion of Addisons. Adeline is gorgeous though.

Mercedes, nn Sadie-I like Sadie, but Sarah nn Sadie is my preference. Mercedes is just too much.

Calla, nn Cal/Callie-Aw, Calla is so pretty. I don't like Cal on a girl, but Callie isn't bad.

Pheobe-Phoebe, but it's cute.

Penelope, nn Poppy - It is a family name, but I am currently not brave enough to use this, maybe someday-That's actually really nice. I've never thought of Poppy as a nn for Penelope, but it certainly works. I like Nellie too.

Isla - I worry about pronuciation - but it is so pretty. -Yeah, it might take a bit for people to figure out. Isla is very pretty though.

My personal favourite her is Adeline; definitly Adeline Elizabeth. I like them all though other than Mercedes & Harper.

Boys: A much shorter list :)

Luke - Not that exciting, but I really like it-I love Luke. It's sort of common, but it's a simple classic.

Weston, nn West - my number one name for years-That's very cool. I like just West too, really.

Griffin, nn Finn -I love Finn on its own, but Griffin is nms. It seems sort of harsh.

Andrew, nn Andy - a cute, all boy name-Agreed. I love it.

I think that Luke William or Andrew William are my favourites here. Weston James is very cool as well.

Hope this helps!

Harper -- OK, not my favorite, but seems to be gaining in popularity
Adeline, nn Addie -- Like it
Mercedes, nn Sadie -- Like Mercedes, don't like Sadie as a nnn
Calla, nn Cal/Callie -- NMS
Pheobe -- I like it, spelled Phoebe
Penelope, nn Poppy - It is a family name, but I am currently not brave enough to use this, maybe someday -- I like Penelope and the family name significance, however, don't like Poppy as a nickname, but it would grow on me.
Isla - I worry about pronuciation - but it is so pretty. -- This means island. Not my style.

Boys: A much shorter list :)
Luke - Not that exciting, but I really like it -- Like it
Weston, nn West - my number one name for years -- Like it

I could be wrong, but I had assumed she was referring to the Scottish name Isla (pronounced eye-la), not the Spanish word for island, which is pronounced ees-la. The name Isla doesn't literally mean island, but it is the feminine form of Islay, the NAME of an island (just like Delia is taken from the island Delos, so basically a place name).

To the OP:

Iris - I have a soft spot for Iris. ;) Very nice.
Lucy -- I like it, but it is growing in popularity (along with the similar-sounding Lily).
Harper -- Love it.
Adeline, nn Addie -- Like Adeline, but I'm afraid "Addie" will be lost in a sea of little girls with the same nn or sound-alikes (the ever-popular Maddie, for instance).
Mercedes, nn Sadie -- Although I like the nn Sadie, I've only ever heard Mercedes on Spanish girls/women, so unless you are, it might be too ethnic.
Calla, nn Cal/Callie -- Love Calla!
Pheobe -- nms, although I do like the similar-sounding Daphne
Penelope, nn Poppy - I can't get into this one, because I always see "envelope," but I do like the sound of it. Was it a grandmother's name or something (since you mentioned it was a family name)? If so, it might make a perfect mn, since you mentioned not knowing if you'd want to use it as a fn. Just a thought!
Isla - You're right ... it's a beautiful name. ;) I wouldn't worry too much about pronunciation, since it's so short and sweet. It's really not difficult. One correction should be enough.

Luke - I like Luke
Weston, nn West - it's not really my style, but I like it on someone else's son, KWIM?
Griffin, nn Finn -- Love it, and the nn Finn is great (it's even on my own list, but I'm leaning more towards Finnian if I ever get a chance to name a boy LOL).
Andrew, nn Andy - Love Andrew. Andy is so-so for me (but I knew so many of them growing up, I think I just prefer the full name ... no big deal).

Great list, btw!
