My DH's grandma's name is Merica Grace. I really like that name but g'ma has made it very known that it is HER name and ONLY to be HER name! But whenever anyone hears the name Merica, they say "Oh! That's a neat name!" Her family was Irish but she was told Merica was the name of a Greek neighbor. :)

For a boy -- why not have fun and name him Jesse James? I think it's pretty cute and a little funny! :)

Good luck, Tanya

Merica Grace is a very pretty name, too bad she doesn't want to share it! :)

Maybe I should clarify though, ^^Grace^^ and ^^Jesse^^ are my angel babies, so those names are not open for use.

THANKS!

Well, you can pick any other middle name for Merica. :) I think if we were to use it, I would've picked Merica Kristine, because that is more of a family name from my side... oh well...

My boss' daughter's name is Aliyah, which also means Grace. I've never met another girl with that name -- very pretty.

Boys' names are so hard. There are very few names that my DH & I agree on. He is Irish and I really like names like Patrick and Sean. We can agree on Patrick but he isn't crazy about Sean. He likes stuff like Aiden and Braden and Brennan. So, hopefully we'll end up with only one boy and that would solve our problem. :)

Here are names of boys that I've worked with (I'm a teacher -- used to work with infants, now teach 6th-8th graders) that I think are good ones: Bennett, Nick, Zach; Riley is good for either a boy or girl. (It was the name of my in-laws' dog, so that name is out for us! Ha ha ha!)

Are your other kids old enough to help pick out a name? That might be kind of fun for them. :)
