I love that name and it goes very well with the long last name also staring with the letter B. My concern is that I fear the name Beau (pronounces bo), sounds country or hillbillie. What do YOU think?

I have trouble picturing Beau as a name, but I speak French, so I think it depends where you live. It definitely doesn't give me a hillbilly vibe, more southern gentleman :)

I think it's a cool name. It has a southern feel to it, but that's not a bad thing.

I do think it sounds country but I also think people will get used to it & over the country-ish feel to it quickly.

I think Beau sounds like a southern gentleman, but not a hillbilly. I think it sounds nice.

It depends on where you live. If you're Southern, it may very well come across as a distinguished, gentlemanly name. If you're not, however, then yes, it definitely sounds "country." Speaking from experience here. I live in PA, and a friend from high school named her son Clarence, after his father, and calls him Beau/Bo (same nn as the father, btw ... no idea where it came from). People gave her such a hard time about using such a "hillbilly" name for her son! So while it's probably akin to, say, Rhett in the South, it may not work as well in other areas. (And speaking of Rhett, that may be a nice alternative for you). ;)

FWIW, I know some are fans of alliterative initials, but having grow up Kelli K., I am not. Especially very-obvious ones or those with teasing potential, like Beau B., might want to be avoided. An open-ended name like Beau also tends to run into the B sound of the ln (when Bo Bice was on American Idol, for example, I heard many people comment on the fact that his name sounded like Bobe Ice). Just some things to consider.

HTH ;)

I *love* the name, it is so cool. It does have a bit of a country vibe to it, but that's not a bad thing. I LOVE it!

I *love* Beau. It's so cute. My cousin named one of her boy twins Beau Allen, and I've been sold on the name ever since. I do think Beau has a southern vibe, but not necessarily country. More like a southern gentleman: urbane, devilishly handsome, manly.
