Name for fourth...

I am pregnant with my fourth. Thursday we found out we are finally having a little girl!!! I have three sons and before they were born my dh insisted on naming them. I have grown to love their names but now we are stuck. My dh says now that I am having a girl I can name her. My sons are Tyler, Toby and Tanner. All t's. I just have not found any t's that I like for a girl. Do you think it would be weird to go off the T thing? I have always loved the name Megan for a girl. I also know this will be my last child so I want a name I love not just like. Please help. Oh, I did ask my boys what they thought and they all love Megan and said they did not care about the whole T thing. Don't you just love boys!!!

Thanks,

Lisa

Congratulations on your girl! How exciting. I think you should use the name you love regardless of what initial it starts with.

Tanner, Tyler, Toby and Megan sound great together. I have 3 children - 2 who have 'A' names and one with an 'S' name. It's never been a problem.

I think a great combination would be Megan Alyssa (after your name Lisa - you deserve it after raising 3 boys! LOL)

Congrats again and good luck.

Congratulations on your little girl! I think you can get away with having a different initial since your other children are all boys, she is your lone girl, so she can have a different initial without it seeming wierd. Also, I think it will make the flow of the names together less cutesy...ya know? (ie: Tyler, Toby, Tanner, and Tara...cutsey...Tyler, Toby, Tanner, and Megan...cute!.)

I do like Megan a lot. Here are some other suggestions:

Whitney

Mackenzie

Lauren

Laurel

Brooke/Brooklyn

Olivia

Katherine/Catherine

Katelyn

Natalie/Natalia

Danielle/Daniella

Jenna

Riley/Rylee/Rylie

Breana/Breanna

Congratulations on having a daughter! Please use Megan. You love it, the other kids love it, and this time it's YOUR choice!

It's time to do what YOU want to do!

I know others who named all their boys with one letter and named all their girls with a different letter. It looks just as intentional as naming them all with the same letter!

HI - My cousin had the same problem with a T name .

She ended up combining names and called her daughter

Toni-ann.

She loves it !

Hope this helps -

I think Tyler, Tanner, Toby and Megan sound perfectly fine together! I wouldn't worry about "breaking the pattern". My friend has 2 boys both names "C" and a girl name "D". It doesn't look or seem weird at all. Use a name that you love, not one you just 'like' because it 'fits'.

However, if you decide to go with the "T" thing, I'd offer my suggestion of Teagan (Tee-gan). Its spelled a bit like Megan (err.. Meagan) but would fit in with your "T" theme.

Good LUck!

Lisa,

I haven't read the other posts so sorry if this is repetitive. I don't think there is anything wrong with not keeping the t's going if it is fine with you and Dh. I too have 3 sons all t's. Tyler 9, Tevin 6, and Tadyn 4. We are trying now for number 4 and hope we get a girl too. If so the t's will continue. Tegan Paige will be her name. If it is a boy however I want to name him Kemper Riley my Dh is having trouble letting the t's go however. So good luck in whatever you decide. By the way my 2nd was almost a Tanner but some friends had a son they named Montanna and called him Tanner!
