I like Ariadne but I've never warmed to Aria (either as a full name or nn). Ariadne is gorgeous and doesn't really need a nickname in my opinion. I love Alasdair (strongly prefer this spelling), and Alasdair James is classic. I like Sean, not so much Ivan; it always strikes me as very ethnic, I would find it odd on a child who wasn't of Eastern European heritage. In case you weren't aware Ivan and Sean are both John, just in different languages, a bit like naming your child Mary Marie... Ariadne and Alasdair are both great names, good luck!
I LOVE Ariadne--makes me think of Hercule Poirot's friend Ariadne Oliver from the Agatha Christie books. Deva...eh. Makes me think "diva," which isn't a big positive in my theater world.
From the boys, I like Sean more but find Alister more interesting, so I'm not sure which way to go.
