The name Jocelyn....

What does everyone think or perceive when they hear "Jocelyn"?

I personally have never liked the name, but that's because I had never met anyone with this name so I had no perception of it. Recently, I saw a girl in my department with this name. I never met her, but it looks pretty on her nameplate (lol). Also, Dancing with the Stars' host named her daughter Josselyn Sidney.

Now that I've heard it a few times, I think I like it!

What middle names go with it?

I've always really liked it - the upside of it is it's never had a popular era - it's not trendy, it's not old-fashioned, it's not classic, it's just a name that's 'around'.

I like the spelling Jocelyn, like you used, the best

barring any possible family names:

Jocelyn Paige

Jocelyn Renee

Jocelyn Danielle

Jocelyn Michelle

Jocelyn Monique

Jocelyn Kathleen

I have been a fan of Jocelyn for a long time. I think it's spunky, yet sophisticated. The only Jocelyn I have ever met was a college student. She was athletic, a cheerleader and a good student.

It's a name that I started to really like sometime last year. I love the nn Joss. Combos:

  • Jocelyn Camille

  • Jocelyn Annaleise

  • Jocelyn Estelle/Isabel/Gabrielle/Anabel/Mirabelle--I think all the "elle" names sound great with it

  • Jocelyn Therese

  • Jocelyn Mae

  • Jocelyn Pearl

  • Jocelyn Eliza

I think it's nice. I don't really have an image of a Jocelyn--it's familiar, but I don't know any beyond a four-year-old with red pigtails and I think it's the kind of name you grow into, if that makes sense.

I'm not in love with Jocelyn; which seems odd because I do like the nn Josie. I guess my mind thinks of Josephine more to get Josie.

That's not to say it isn't a lovely name; just nms.
