I know of someone who named their baby Kellen a year back.

There are two active pro football players - Kellen Winslow (Cleveland Brown) and he's a junior - his dad, Kellen Winslow Sr was also a pro football player - then there's Kellen Clemens (NY Jets)

I know one little girl named Kellen - so I guess it's kind of a unisex name, although I don't think that it's widespread as a girls name

I like Kellen Michael together, very nice

I like Kellen a lot, but I prefer it spelled Kellan. The "an" ending is very comman/traditional in Irish names. It is actually a suffix that means "little". So a name like Aidan is a combination of "Aodh", meaning fire, and "an" meaning little. Hence the meaning "little fiery one". So when I see a name like Aidan spelled Aiden, it always bothers me a little. Kelly is a Irish name, so I'd much prefer seeing it modified with an "an" ending than an "en" ending. I really like Kellan Michael Papier.

i think its a nice way to honor your dad, and is for sure more current sounding.

I think it's very handsome and very appropriate. Now, it IS the type of name that some misguided individuals will tack on a girl--but that goes for about everything these days. (I met a little pink Randall the other week..) I wonder if the original Kelan spelling would get around the potential Ellen connection...
