I do like both. I think in this area, Ryan is more popular as Carlos is very obviously cultural. I personally prefer the sound of Ryan, but I do like both a lot.

Ryan - fits a little boy and an adult

Carlos - I only know older men with this name, but I can picture on a kid

Miguel - LOVE this! Why isn't this name in the running for the first name?

I would pick Miguel Ryan Garcia if it were an option.

Well I chose the middle name and I let my husband choose the first name. Miguel I chose because I had a brother named Michael and he passed away three years ago and I wanted my son to have some part of his uncles name. I didn't michael so I chose the spanish version.
I really like your suggestion thank you so much I will talk to my husband about it.

I'd pick Carlos (I have a son named Carl, so I'm biased anyway) because Ryan is sooo popular. Not only that but Ryan is being used as a girls name more and more, while Carlos is still all boy. I can only speak for myself, but I really hate transgendered names.

Tough decision. Unfortunately many people are still prejudiced and I think your son's resume might stand a better shot with Ryan rather than Carlos. I think it depends on your cultural background and the circles you anticipate your son will run in. If your son will be of mixed heritage, Ryan may highlight that. If not than you might want to use a traditional name like Carlos.

I am a labor and delivery nurse. I hear Ryan all the time...great name but Carlos is very nice as well and less popular. Very masculine.
