I have to agree with your bf... Illusion does sound like a stripper's name. I wouldn't use it. Here are some other ideas:

Delilah
Galilea
Ilona
Iliana
Amelia
Cecily
Jillian
Matilda
Elizabeth
Liana
Lolita

Illusion? Is that a name?
I don't even see how Lily can come from Illusion.

Just curious, why not Lily by itself?

Hm, I really like Lily by itself, but here are a few suggestions.

Leilani
Lily-Rose, or something to that effect.

Maybe not a stripper, but it does sound a bit contrived--like a character from the X-Men or something. I'm fond of unusual, but this might be a bit much.

Other places Lily could come from (besides just Lily, which I'm fine with):

Tigerlily (yeah, yeah, Bob Geldof's daughter shows up in the lists for having this name, but I really think it's her first two names--Heavenly Hirani--that push this over the edge. On its own, it's just whimsical.)
Delilah
Liliom (in the French play, this is a male character, but I think it's obscure enough to let slide.)
Ilona
Ilyria (it's a place from Shakespeare's Twelfth Night...I don't think it's a real place)

(edited to change the spelling of Ilyria...I had it with an E.)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Illyria ! Great suggestion; I love it as a name actually. There's also Ilaria, which derives from the same root as Hilary.

For the OP:

Ilaria
Iliana
Lilias
Ottilie
Romilly
Rosalie

Kind of a stretch, maybe, but I could see using Lily for any of these names or the ones the other posters mentioned. I would stay away from Illusion, personally.

It's always embarrassing when you try to correct your spelling and still get it wrong. *blush* I'm going to use the excuse that Wikipedia uses a sans serif font and the Is and the ls looks the same...but I do still like Illyria.
