We are going to wait to find out what we are having and I spent all day looking at names yesterday. My husband's family uses the dad's first name as the son's middle name so that means we need to try and use Jason as a middle name. My mom had told me she really wants a grandaughter named Catherine with a C. We lost a baby in Nov and I was sure it was a girl and I was going to name her Kate so now I am kinda not into the Catherine or Katherine (MIL's middle name) thing so I am thinking of Catherine as a middle name. Anyway - here are my top three for boys and girls-

Boys: Timothy Jason Thomas Jason Jason Ross JR (Jay)

Girls: Greer Catherine Anne Catherine Ellis Catherine

What do y'all think- feelings won't be hurt!

My favorites from your list are Thomas Jason and Greer Catherine...though, if you decide that you're comfortable with Catherine again, Catherine Greer could also be lovely. Thomas is just a long-time favorite, strong and under-used. Timothy always feels perpetually young to me and I'm not sure I'm ready for a return to the days of Jasons (having had my jr. high heart broken by one...or five. There were a lot of them!) Greer Catherine is interesting and balances crisp and feminine. Anne Catherine comes in second as softly feminine. Ellis is...eh...to me. Ellis Peters is, I've been told, a pen name for a woman, but it feels like a male name to me and I just can't get past the felt masculinity of it.

Timothy Jason ---this is cute, not my favorite of your combos, but I like it
Thomas Jason ---this is my favorite of your combos. I love the name Thomas!
Jason Ross JR (Jay)---I don't really care for this one too much, sorry

First of all, I love Katherine nn Kate!
Greer Catherine---I really like this combo, but think it flows better as Catherine Greer
Anne Catherine---how about Anna Catherine
Ellis Catherine---again, I like this, but prefer Catherine Ellis. How about Ella Catherine?

Some other suggestions:

Charles Jason

Jason Finn

Olivia Catherine
Lucy Catherine
Laura Catherine
Nora Catherine

Good Luck!

I like all of your choices. My favorites are Thomas Jason for a boy or Anne Catherine for a girl. (Some people think that Anne is a little plain, but I hardly ever hear it in real life, and I think it's elegant.)

Timothy Jason- Very nice! Timothy sounds like a younger name (if that makes sense) than Thomas, but it has the advantage of being three syllables long and therefore flowing slightly better with Jason.

Thomas Jason- Thomas is one of my favorite names! It's traditional without being at all pretentious or antiquated, it's suitable for formal or informal occasions, and it's becoming increasingly uncommon (although I believe it was still in the top 50 as of 2005).

Jason Ross JR (Jay)- The whole Jr. thing isn't my style, but it's a decent name.

Greer Catherine- I don't care for this name at all.

Anne Catherine- Lovely! My favorite of your girl's names by a landslide!

Ellis Catherine- Ellis...is a man's name. Here is a site where you can see a graph of the name's popularity since 1880 for males and females (just type the name in at the top of the page)...it's never been used for girls. http://babynamewizard.com/namevoyager/lnv0105.html
