Names with an Australian flavour?
| Sat, 10-01-2005 - 12:07pm |
I could really use some help to come up with names that are either Australian or have an Aussie flavour to them. My mom passed away a year and a half ago and she spent a lot of time there - we'd like to honour her by naming this baby (not sure of gender yet) something Aussie.
Thanks so much.

I really like Australian names! Here are a few I found:
Girls:
Sienna
Dania
Lily
Chloe
Jasmine
Lucy
Ruby
Zoe
Kiah
Talia
Lyndel
Boys:
Lachlan
Liam
Orion
Cooper
Morgan
Ethan
My favourites are Sienna Lily and Lachlan Cooper. Hope this helped you!

Hi, I live in Australia so I can probably help you out.
The top twenty boys names at the moment are:
Joshua* , Lachlan*, Thomas*, Jack*, William*, James*, Ryan*, Samuel*, Matthew*, Ethan*
Daniel*, Harrison, Nicholas*, Cooper, Benjamin*, Riley, Liam*, Oliver, Luke*, Charlie*
The top twenty girls names at the moment are:
Olivia, Ella, Charlotte, Emily*, Lily, Sophie, Chloe*, Mia, Emma*, Georgia*, Ruby, Amelia*, Isabella, Zoe*, Grace*, Jessica*, Sienna, Lucy*, Sarah*, Hayley*
The ones with astericks* are the more traditionally used australian names, whereas the others have become popular recently and are influenced largely by American or other international TV shows that we are getting.
Kylie is a very popular aboriginal name. It means boomerang. You can find other aboriginal names for boys and girls, and their meanings at http://www.babynamenetwork.com/origin.cfm?origin=Aboriginal
