Names for a bi-racial baby?????
| Mon, 02-20-2006 - 9:08pm |
I am having a bi-racial baby, and am wondering if anyone can suggest names for me.... I have a feeling that I am having a girl, but I could be wrong, so I need names for both boys and girls.... I want a name that is interesting and pretty. My name is Jessica, so I want to stay away from super-popular names. Any ideas? Please, I need all the help I can get.

I'm not sure how a bi-racial name is different but I'll name the bi-racial kids have known.

I guess its not that I think naming a bi-racial baby is different, I just want a name that reflects a little extra "culture". Do you know what I mean? My boyfriend wants a name like Lashawna or Lakisha, I don't. He's afraid that if its left up to me, the baby will end up with a name like Tiffany or Jennifer, what he considers "white" names.
Please don't be offended, anyone....
I'm not offended. My class is entirely African American so I'll tell your their names.
Cameron (boy), Deryk, Deairra, James, Lavania (boy), Rayniesha, Trevon (tray-von), Zarrieyon, Keegan*, Tony, Willie, Darien*, Nickolas, Rashad
Here are some names of kids I've worked with.
Autrail (girl), Brittany (2), Tyrone, Angel (2), Brieyasha, Carlos, Isaiah*, Damon and Damion (twins), Matthew (bi-racial), Che (boy), Maya*, Ashlynn*, Doniesha*, Darrius (3), Dasia, Sierra*, Erquail, Erquandra (sisters), Kaleb and Jacob (twins), Jacolbi and
I know what you mean, but I think that more and more names carry less of a racial identity than they used to. I know at least one African-American Brittany and one AA Tiffany, so those aren't necessarily obvious "white trash" names even though I do understand what you're both saying.
