Hi,
I am trying to write a children's book, and I need name ideas. Can anyone think of some really good pretentious, long names for Kindergarten girls, as well as some shorter, nicknamey names? I think I need 5-6 pretentious names and 5-6 nicknamey names. Thanks for your help.

I've thought about using Dusty as the main character for the book. What do you think she looks like?

I'd say Dusty looks like a 60 year old man. But if I heard Dusty as a kindergarten girl in a story I'd think she looked, well, dusty - in a Cinderella pre ball way. It's not a feminine name - so maybe a tomboy in overalls with messy hair who maybe wears a baseball hat. No offense if any of your children are called Dusty.

Dusty was actually my mom's nickname when she was a kid. She was a little blond, curly haired little girl who was more on the husky side. (Not fat by any means but not a string bean either). She got the NN because she was always outside playing in the dirt with the boys. :)
