If any of you are readers, you know that lots of books have great names! My favourite book is Gone With The Wind by Margaret Mitchell, and I love Scarlett and Rhett. Holden (Catcher in the Rye) is nice as well. Anyone know of any others?

My favorite book is To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. I am not in love with any of the names in the book on their own, but I think that they would make a cute nn. For example Jem could be short for Jeremy or Scout could be a nn for almost anything (boy or girl). I recently read The Giver by Lois Lowry and I do like the names in that book. Fiona or Lily for a girl and Jonas or Gabriel for a boy.

I always liked Madigan from The Pilots Wife & Honour from Sea Glass, both by Anita Shreve. She always has great names for her characters. I read constantly & unfortunately I am drawing a blank for other names I like.

I like Basil, Dorian & Sibyl from Oscar Wilde's 'Dorian Gray'. I also love Margaret (Meg), Elizabeth (Beth), Josephine (Jo) & Amy from 'Little Women' and Beatrice, Camilla, Matilda & Tristram from Dante's 'Divine Comedy'. I adore Gloriana, Florimell, Serena & Una from 'The Faerie Queen', Damian from 'Canterbury Tales', Zoraïde or Zoraida from Charlotte Brontë, 'The Professor' as well as from Cervantes 'Don Quixote' and last but not least; Poe's Lenore.
