Hi everyone,

My husband and I both like the name Liliana but I'm concerned about the popularity. At our local hospital alone there have been three in the past three months! Do you think the name is too popular? Can you suggest any similar alternatives? I like very feminine names.

Thanks

Julie

I agree that any Lily name is definitely WAY too popular right now. Some other feminine names are:

Elianna

Lianna

Marina

Giselle - nn Gigi?

Aurora - nn Rory?

Nicola

Matilda

Sophie

Clara

Adeline

Ashlyn

Offhand, Lileas/Lilias/Lillias is the Scottish form of Liliana. ;) Definitely not as common, although you could still use Lily or Lila as a nn if that was the plan. You might also like Lilith.

If you wanted to get away from Lily-type names entirely, you might also like another "Ana" name -- Juliana, Adriana, Diana, Anneliese/Annelise, Annika, Alanna(h), etc.

Are you looking for names that start with L or just similar:
Our daughters name is Talia, I find it very feminine and pretty. Other L names that come to mind right now are at the daycare: Leela (not sure of spelling) or Leena

I live in Florida, and that's a very uncommon name here...or at least in my town. Personally, I don't think I could give you a variation of that name that even comes close to being as pretty. I love the name you've picked!!!

It's not that popular where I live, but we're always a little bit behind the trends.

I don't think it is too popular at all...not like Ava, Olivia, Emma, Hannah, etc. that I hear often. I think Liliana is beautiful and you should stick with it!
