Names to similiar??

Hello-

I'm due with baby boy #3 next month. We thought that we had settled on Corey Benjamin for this little guys name and I still like it but I'm feeling like it's a little nicknamey or dated. DH and I starting looking again and the name Caleb came up. He really likes it but I think it might be too similiar to 1st DS Jacob...we also have a Sean. Do you think Caleb and Jacob are too matchy? We do call him Jake most of the time. Any other names you feel go well with Jacob and Sean? I LOVE Nathan (Nate) but DH won't go for it....I tried all through my last pregnancy too!

Thanks,
Sarah

ETA: Sorry...I meant to post this in "Boys" :)

Just wanted to mention that I have a Jacob and Caden. Do the majority of people try to avoid "matchy" names? Caleb is nice too.
I had Corey on my list too for # 2 after I had Jacob.

Good luck.

Jacob and Caleb are way too similar, imo, sharing not only the same ending, but also the same prominent long 'a' sound. I wouldn't do it.

With big brothers Jacob and Sean, and keeping Caleb, Corey, and Nathan in mind for inspiration, how about:

Wyatt
Ethan
Noah
Toby
Micah
Dylan
Everett
Bryce
Adam
Corbin
Wade
Tristan

I am getting tired of Caleb really quickly, and I also dislike the way the b's run together in caleB Benjamin.

Corey is a tad nicknamey, but I really like it! I think it works well with your boys names and is a lot less common than Caleb.

You may also like Nolan.

I think Jacob and Caleb are too matchy for brothers, for two reasons. 1- They are rhymey, and 2- They are both well-known Biblical names, and Sean is not. It doesn't seem to make a good sibset b/c of that, KWIM?

I like the name Caleb, but it has become a bit passe for me just because I've seen it on a lot of little boys (even worse- Kaleb too).

I really like Corey with brothers Jacob and Sean. It is different enough, but not too "out there" or anything. I guess it may be a little nicknamey, but it is certainly its own name. I definitely prefer Corey over Caleb. I actually like that you probably won't shorten it to a nn, b/c that way it doesn't leave Sean out again (like rhyming names would also).

Good luck to you during your last month of pregnancy!

Oh, and to answer a pp question, a lot of people dislike matchy names because it seems corny, silly, and cutesy. Then again, plenty of people don't mind it or even match their kids' names on purpose. So there's a wide spectrum of types, I guess!

If we went with Caleb, I think we would choose another mn. Benjamin in DH's name but I don't like the run of B's either.

We know a family with a Jacob, Sean and Corbin. (I saw Corbin on another poster's list as well.) so that's a definite possibility. They go together without being matchy. :)

Corey would totally work as a nn for Corbin.

Your list has great suggestions, Thanks! We have never discussed Wyatt before, maybe I will bring that one up tonight. I also like Noah, Ethan, Dylan and Adam but DH has over 30 cousins and most have baby boys and used these already!

I think Jacob and Caleb are way too similar. What about Callum or Connor?

I have a friend that named her boys Jacob and Jaden - to me that is way more matchy then Caleb and Jacob.
